    A Paduan: To answer your question: What spiritual help? Please check out the full testimony of the above poster. I have given details of how to find it in my reply to Shining One.

    As for your point about,"Bible-believing church", being a broad term, I have to agree. Perhaps the kind of thing that I'm getting at is characterized by the following comment I read on a Christian message board recently. It was made as part of a thread regarding the Da Vinci code: "Sadly, in the LAST FEW REMAINING MOMENTS before CHRIST'S RETURN, the DEVIL is going to do anything he can to MISLEAD PEOPLE." My weekly quotes from ex-Christian message boards are directed at JW 'lurkers' who may be considering joining a church that preaches this kind of message.

    If someone I knew were considering becoming a JW, I would encourage them to read ex-JW message boards. Similarly, if someone I knew were considering joining a Bible-believing church, I would encourage them to read ex-Christian message boards. Of course, just as someone considering becoming a JW may read JWD and decide that its just 'apostate' propaganda, so too, someone considering joining a Bible-believing church may read, ex.Christian.net, and decide that thats just 'apostate' propaganda. The choice is theirs, all I can do is encourage them to read those message boards, which will hopefully lead to their making a more informed choice about something that might have such a significant impact on their lives.

    Suffering has been a part of the Christian experience from the beginning;

    2 Corinthians 4:1-18 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don't faint. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. Even if our Gospel is veiled, it is veiled in those who perish; in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. For we don't preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake; seeing it is God who said, "Light will shine out of darkness," who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves. We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed; always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh. So then death works in us, but life in you. But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, "I believed, and therefore I spoke." We also believe, and therefore also we speak; knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and will present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. Therefore we don't faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory; while we don't look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

    >Oh great, we got the shining one. If you listen to him/her, he'd have you believe millions of starving children in Africa have "no right" to an aswered prayer since they have never heard the word of god and accepted Jebeebus as their lord and saviour.
    When people have no solid argument they often appeal to emotion. You must be a leftist liberal, you know, the 'knee-jerk' variety...LOL

    <It's simple - God doesn't answer prayers because god doesn't exist.
    Hmmm, you would have to BE GOD to know that. Your second comment is bogus also...
    > Anyone who believes he/she/it does exist is in dire need of a saviour, in dire need of the BELIEF in God, not God himself.
    Would you like some mustard on your red-herring? You really should shut up until you can actually make an intelligent comment.
    >You might as well choose The Amazing Batboy as your saviour.
    That comment speaks for itself. Let me ask you, Daniella, Are you in 8th or 9th grade?

    Scout,
    Your big problem is that you have made up your mind and not given them a chance to gain some experience before you try to yank the last bit of faith out a person who has just had all of their beliefs destroyed. People have sometimes been driven to despair or may suffer from cult induced or inherited mental problems. I would not send any JW to this board because of this: too many people here confirm the Watchtower's very charges about apostates. You are as likely to drive them back into the fold of a cult! That's one reason that I said you need to 'get on with your life and quit whining'.

    So does the 3-year old who starves to death in Darfur get to spend his/her afterlife in the "smoking" or "non-smoking" section?
