I love your post and your idealism (considering your age).
As to why it should be so adamantly pro-Dutch (one of the most secular, non-Christian societies on earth – just think of Amsterdam’s reputation…) and anti-USA, I’m not so sure.
As to “"reverting back to the common western culture” after leaving WTS/JW, please note that The Organization is essentially a materialistic, result-oriented USA-culture pervaded phenomena to its very core. I for one envy many Americans for their Christian Churches and culture/consciences (except when their members go defend democracy in Iraq, of course).

Posting on forums like this is forbidden for JW’s. Even most exJW’s here post anonymously not without reason. I for one hope you will keep posting here and will LEARN. We all still do. So perhaps with regard to future postings it would be wise to edit out your name.

I think that ex-witnesses or places like this forum will be the most un-biased opinions you will find. We will answer your questions truthfully. Even if some of us have had a bad experience with the JW's we will still tell you the truth about JW's. Our experiences do not in anyway affect the truth about them. We unlike the WTBS have nothing to cover up or a 'reputation' of peace loving people to uphold.

Hi, spiceant. Your ideals sound too lofty to fit well with a religion as narrow-minded as the WTS, but I hope you will find that out for yourself before you get too involved with it.
As for your comments about the U.S., it sounds like you've been listening to political propaganda as well. Right now, America-bashing is the fashion throughout most of the world. As a nation, we've certainly made mistakes (as have all other nations), but nothing to warrant a casual dismissal of 99% of its population. Please be sure to look deeply into religious - and political - matters before reaching your conclusions.

I have learned about some phenomena like peak oil (lifeaftertheoilcrash.net) and also some about the illuminati or their intend to dominate the world (infowars.com) both sites are quite zealous and written in a way that i dont like (i wouldnt write texts like what you see on those two). I recently also red through a lot of globalissues.com, namely through consumerism and colonialism. I'v also red through some study's or texts about the end times, the anti christ and "all that stuff of armageddon".

The subjects are quite heavy (i think) and they are probably scary to any human out there, like with armageddon, we dont really know when (or if?) it will begin to matter to us and people we care for. Human (western) kind as i see it now is propelling itself to a very trying period because it is depleting the earth's natural resources and is disrupting the eco-system and so many things. That is as much as the bible tells me to and that is also a reason why i believe in this ending time.

Now i really really really do not have a faintest clue what i can do about it, but i will sleep over it like i usually do and wake up and go on with my life to learn many new things like i usually do and become independant (move out of my parental home) get a job and move on from there.

As for the JW's tomorrow, i have heard some things from people about me, bottomline being i am usually seen as a silent, thoughtfull, friendly and some more person. I will get to know some JW's tomorrow and i will try to identify Elders and talk to them and later talk about "heavy" subjects before i discuss those subjects with "ordinary" JW's so i dont become a threat to them and not be cast away. Ideally i'll manage to cause a chain reaction of common sense and open minds throughout the WTS along with other ideals i mentioned, with the bible as a foundation. But i will probably not cause such a thing before they put me on a throne and that will only be after i become worthy of it.

And i must also say something else, i am scared by a lot of people on this board because they (you?) have such an agressive and hatefull stand toward other people (some JW's), i am scared of this because it does not cause any productive thought. When people go to sleep, wether a JW, ex-JW, afro american, president Bush, Hitler. When we go to sleep we (i) believe, no matter how deep in ouer hearts and how far away from ouer consience, we think that we are doing what is good for humanity. For that we should love and not hate one another and at most hate the sins of people and not people for sin.

....uuuhhhh.....western world....what about china? last time i looked china was not in the western world. they use a lot of "natural resources" to take care of their very large population, growing "oil dependence" that rivals america's (western world).

Do you people believe in the end of the world and in the coming of god's kingdom under Jesus his rule?

i went to the congegration this sunday and as i expected i was very welcome and people came up for handshakes and the basic talk about nothing and one married couple (25 ish years old) showed me around untill we all sat down. We sang a song and said a prayer before and after we started and at first we heard a speech (or someone preaching) abt the dangers of the world at hand of a sailing parable. That in one sentence came down to not letting yourself sail down to the lowest point of the wind onto the land (if that is where the wind blows). The 2nd part was about discussing a small article in a WT magazine This this article was about the mistakes the israelites made after they were instructed by Jehovah god to build a temple but let themselves be discouraged by the people around. At first it sounded a litle awkward (but i suppose hardly anyone can be as well and quick versed as people like mr Phil and mrs Oprah.

I'm not sure wether or not im being treated kindly because i am new and perhaps i might need to be treated with something enticing and im not sure if they (the couple showing me around) would be conscious of this. I am atleast quite certain that internally (inbetween JW's) relations are friendly and often trusting but i really dont have a clue beyond that.

I know that you might not like to read what i have experienced so far and that i supposidly cannot be post here if i ever want to become a JW but i believe in the end of the world as it is mostly prophecied by JW's.

So still, do you people believe in the end times, armageddon and all that horrible stuff of the bible in John's revelation either as you read it or as JW's prophecise?

Personally, no. I used to, but I now know that the wts is a bogus organisation, and if there is a God, and I am having serious doubts about that, then he would definitely not be using the wts as his channel of communication with man.

Did you enjoy your visit to the kingdom hall? Most people do the first time, but in answer to this point:

It was because you are new. All newbies are treated in the same way. The jws will all be hoping you return, and it won't be long, if they haven't done it already, before someone offers to start a Bible study with you. That is where the indoctrination begins, so unless you have thoughts on becoming a jw, do take care.

I believe the world as we know it now (or the western culture and mindset) is going to end and that caused me to look around for people who thought the same as me and for similar reasons (and that also had some <common sense>). That is where i found out about the JW's and their site seems to have it summed up roughly among 2000 other issues i never knew about.

I think i have a very strong sense of what is good for myself and i will depend on that to observe the WTS and JW's from my point of view but also to keep myself safe (people controlling me). I dont believe in control by force but love as that is how J exerts control if i managed to interpret the bible correctly.

I'm getting the impression that the WTS has a pacifying effect on their JW's, while i believe they should be actively doing something for the future (before the world "end's") as in moving out of the firewood instead of depending on J to keep you safe, so you dont challenge J to protect you.

I forgot to ask another question, do you fokes think that the western way of life is going to last for atleast 50 years?
