haha.. first time ever that Finland got some points in that competition.
I think Finland's show was different from others and that's why they won, party on!

Gawd - wish I'd have watched THIS thread rather than the Euro Song Contest now (I only watch it for Terry Wogan). me and Master Midwich (who I had to prod occassionally to keep awake - managed to get a cheap electric cattle prod off ebay) kept our OWN scoresheets, and let me tell you, OUR results did not resemble the end results in the slightest.

What was Lithuania about?? Sort of chant a 5 year old would make up. They got ZERO from me. I actually thought Germany and Denmark were the best. UK was quite good, for a change.

It's all political anyway, and Britain, as an island, hasn't got any bordering countries to feel sorry for us.

........and something else I couldn't help but notice. With (I think) just 2 exceptions, there were 6 people on stage for every act. I need a hobby.

    WEll.

tHE WINNERHAVE DARK POWER ON THER SIDE.

Didnt you here the title, HALLELUJAH, presented as satans worships, as all hard rock, intrested points, never tell me that som man y in Europe like this teriibbel song, And evryone here knows that JAH stands fore bad things OR?

The best and most beatufull song was SWeden, but this is not important anymore in this competition, it is the best show, and most spektakuler prefomence as winn, next year, perhaps blood and sex on the stadge, as inn bigg brother.

haha... good joke.. powers of the dark side :D
Maybe it is just that people like performances with attitude more than just singing Eurodance from 1990's. :)
It is fun to read articles from newspapers about eurovisions. Fundamental christians are very furious and claims that satan rules whole competition :D

    To All,

How many years back would you have to go for this Finnish entry to get zero points?

    I'd say about 5 years.

My favourites were Sweden, Russia, Romania and Bosnia. Finland sucked!!! But still fun they won, have never won before, their best position was nr 6....

Character is what folks seem to be now looking for, instead of twee little marionettes.

Anyone remember the really grungy German entry, from a few years back, with platform shoes and the whole works?

As for the Israel thing, everyone knows that "one word from Jesus, and folks'll do what they want". He tells folks to be no part of the world, and immediately they set up a political song contest that includes Israel as a psuedo-European outpost. Or at least that's how DaVinci would have it Anyhow, I think Scotland and Wales should be allowed their own entries. It would be interesting to watch the voting then!

Do you mean Gildo Horn or Stefan Raab? :-)

The drummer of this years band was also a famous comedian, Olli Dietrich. While I do not like country style that much, this song was okay to me.

Concerning the winner: I think this competition is destructing itself. But let's see what next year brings.

BTW: The reason why there are contries like Israel: is is being conducted by the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) and some of the members are not really European.
