Another great tactic is what I call the “half quote”. This is when someone quotes part of a sentence, out of context so as to change its meaning. This was a funny post by someone who deeply hangs on every letter of the Society's Doctrines. I remember how zealous I used to be for the Org until my eyes were opened and the light became brighter for me to see the truth. How funny it is that the teachings and wordsmithing of the society can be used against them as well. You know, that is the common mistake that almost all witnesses make when they hear some disturbing truth about the society, they all ask, "Where will we go?" It is a safety blanket for them so that they don't feel responsible for their own actions or be held accountable to GOD for their own minds. It is sad though, because they don't have to go anywhere, they only need to open up their hearts and allow the love of The Christ to enter them and be filled with a wonderful, lightly yoked, spirit. But they allow their eyes to be made dim and when someone comes along and wipes away the grime, the bright light of truth hurts their eyes and they go back to the darkness, because they feel more comfortable there.
We will all have to answer for our actions or lack thereof when the time comes.

Scotty when you start to think for yourself you will find that the doomsday cult that has molded your thinking is wrong. I can tell you how my beliefs differ, I can tell you how many mainstream scholar's Bible interpretations differ from the WTBTS, but will you care? No.
You have decided that the good old boys of the WTBTS are somehow higher beings than you or I and all Bible scholars that ever were. That they alone can know how to understand the bible, when the truth is; they are just mere men like you. Nothing special or annointed except in their own minds. They are victims of victims and followers of followers. New Light only happens when they get in trouble like erroneously setting dates.
We go into the past because if you do not know history, you are doomed to make the same mistakes. Had I known the TRUE history of the WTBTS, I would have found FREEDOM much much sooner.
