I never even used a bad word in my initial post on this thread and yer sayin I'm a damn potty mouth. See there...yer pickin on me again and I ain't even done nuthin wrong yet. I think I am missing something. I don't get this post or the replys to gumby.

But I will say this, I actually liked Russell's first book - the divine plan of the ages. And I could agree with a lot of it, but the other books just kept getting stranger and stranger.

When I compared his chronologies and precictions to the bible itself and read the scriptures he quotes to back everything up in their full context, they did not hold water at all.

But then again, that is my personal opinion only. Except that we do know we have not gone thru the big A yet, we have not seen the destuction of all religion or governments yet, so we know these things he predicted were false. Did he purposely mislead people - I think not. I think Russell was very sincere in his beliefs, just wrong about many.

Here are two things that Russell taught that I agree with wholeheartedly:

"RELIGION IS A SNARE AND A RACKET"

"BEWARE OF ORGANIZATIONS, THEY ARE WHOLY UNNECESSARY"
