What turn you away from the WTS? The extra rules and regs
Do you consider yourself a christian , agnostic or an athiest now and why? Christian - I caled on the only name given under Heaven by which we may be saved - Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:11-12)
What years were you an active Jw? December 1955 (birth) to May 2002.
When was the last year you attended a meeting? 2002.
Were you a true christian or did you live a double life? I believed it was THE Truth, heart and soul, and lived my life accordingly. I did not live a double life.
What turn you away from the WTS? Their policies on how to handle child abuse, their hypocrisy, and their total lack of love for other JWs while preaching that they alone show the most love for their fellow JWs.
Do you consider yourself a christian , agnostic or an athiest now and why? I still pray to Jehovah, in Jesus' name, with the caveat that if I'm wrong I'd appreciate God letting me know. I am skeptical that ANY religion has a premium on truth. I appreciate the creation and feel as though it didn't just "happen," but acknowledge that I could be uninformed about that too. I live each day trying to be the best person I can, help people as I can, and have a sense of personal responsibility for my behavior. I feel that my life has been blessed and I choose, at this time, to give credit to God for those blessings. Nina

Since jw is regularly posting here, sipping apostate words, it gives the lie to the claim that jw is not leading a double life.
IF YOUR ELDERS KNEW YOU WERE REGULARLY HERE YOU WOULD BE DISFELLOWSHIPPED.
As the Lord Jesus says "his place will be assigned with the hypocrites. This is where the weeping and gnashing of his teeth will be."

I can answer one question: Do I consider myself a Christian or do I live a double life? Both - I consider myself a Christian, and I lead a double life by occasionally attending Jesus-belittling meetings at the Kingdumb Hell for family reasons (as do many here). I pray for a mercy in this that no JW would even think of bestowing.

Last meeting March 2006.
I believed it all hook line and sinker and lived accordingly.
I was put off by the pedophile cover ups and DF of victims for speaking out, the WT joining the UN, the Randcam scandal (WT owns controlling shares in a missile company) WT owning shares in tobacco, the lack of unconditional love, the change in generation teaching - I realized they were playing it all by ear and didn't really know what the bible means, any more than anybody else.
I consider myself a Christian, with equal access to Holy Spirit and understanding of the Bible along with all who confess Jesus as Lord in their hearts.

I led a jw life, the jury is still out on the christian part.

blood, pedos, a lot of doctrine didnt jibe with the bible, disfellowshipping over stupid things like smoking. UNgate, academic dishonesty in the publications.... Need more? I got more>

agnoathiest. I dont think you can ever prove there is a god unless you die and go to heaven or whatever or he comes down and has a visit. Even then I'd still be suspicious. I am especially suspicious of an omnipotent god who cares whether or not we worship him, seems kinda petty for the all mighty to do such a thing, doncha? Im leary of a god who gets pissy if I dont believe in him, see he bears the burden of proof no? He gave me a brain to think with and my brain says to me "hey guy, this god thing doesnt add up!"

Were you a true christian or did you live a double life? I was a JW, not a christian. I was a loyal JW.
What turn you away from the WTS? I prayed to Jesus after I discovered the WT had lied about so many doctrines.

Were you a true Christian or did you lead a double life? I was a Jehovah's Witness but Jesus was not central in my life.
What turned you away from the WTS? Too many questions. They called it apostasy.
