That was the first Crichton book I couldn't finish. It felt like it was written like a speech or a seminar dramatization on the environment and I just didn't give a damn about the story or the characters

Hey Chris, yeah, I agree. I've read bits and pieces of it, and I realized that the deja vu feeling I was getting was coming from those "speech or seminar dramatizations" you mentioned. Felt like the governing body (of OPEC, lol) would approve.
