Es, where is it on your body, if you care to share? It's pretty. On a scale of 1 to 10 how badly did it hurt?

OK, here's the story... as I've stated before, I was out of my house by 17; But I was in and out of my house between ages 14-16... I did the art work for this peice when I was 15 (I hijacked the skull itself from a Mike McGill Powell/Peralta skateboard design, and added the hand, blood, & flames). Of course at 16 years of age I couldn't get a tattoo artist to ink me... With that said, The tat is on my left forearm (cause I'm right-handed) I did all the black outlining myself (had to wait till I turned 18 to get an artist to add the color... None the less I did it while I was not living at home, but I came back home and had to attend meetings with my parents with this Satanic Tattoo on my forearm.

Somehow I felt like I was getting the last laugh on this one, I mean it didn't look good for my parents (not being able to control their son)cause my dad was "reaching out" and all...

Do I have any regrets? NO!

Will I get more ink? Yeah, one day when I make up my mind on what I want (either a huge portriat of Tupak Shukar, or a big Cannabis Kola on my back {maybe both})

I am dieing to get one, but am worried it is just an act of rebellion for my newfound freedom, and that I will later regret it.

I have designed a combination of the sun, Ankh and ying yang. It has a lot of religious meaning for me, all being symbols for life and how I perceive it. A bonus is that it spits in the face of everything I was taught as a JW.

The phoenix bird in ancient Egyptian mythology represents immortality. The phoenix never dies; it rises up from the ashes. I decided to play on the WTS idea of "everlasting life" and have this bird represent me and my quest for freedom from mind control.

Here is what my tattoo looks like:

Ok, depending on how you count them, I have at least 5. I will try to post in a moment.

freedomlover, I LOVE your tattoo - it's beautiful!!! I was thining that the upper back near the shoulder is a sexy place for a tatt, but I have to be careful because my parents would murder me if they ever found out (it's not going to stop me from getting one; I just don't want to rub it in their faces). So I'm thinking of a place that would be discreet. Like my lower back would NOT be discreet because when you bend over and your shirt pulls up a little it exposes it - but that's also what I like about low back tatts. A tattoo where you have yours is discreet if you wear a normal shirt. But what if you go to something formal? Many dresses will show that area off. Maybe I'll never go to JW stuff again and it won't be an issue.

OR I could say I got it while being DF'd. Although I'm not one to lie...

It's funny this topic came up; I just met with a tat artist yesterday, I'm getting my first this weekend.

OpenFireGlass - OMG I cannot believe you actually tattooed yourself!!! That's pimp. Where would you get your second tattoo?

freedomlover, where will you get your second tatt?

I like the idea of hebrew letters like Soledad has. Soledad, I can't see your phoenix tattoo!

jwfacts I know what you mean about worrying about regret. I'm definitely feeling a bit spiteful and bitter these days about how I was raised (I got my navel pierced almost 2 weeks ago but it's not totally permanent if I ever wanted to take it out - which I wouldn't, duh). If you think about it long enough though then you know it's something you are choosing to do out of reason not out of spite. For what reason would you have to not get what? I guess that's the thing you have to do is weigh the pros and cons. I've been thinking about it since I was a teenager but only recently did it occur to me that it's actually something I can do, it's not off limits like I previously thought.
