"UN nonsense"? My husband and I looked on the UN sight when we first heard about their involvement and at the time, copied much information leading directly to the WT. They certainly were part of the UN and would like to hide that FACT now.

Here is another example: In the 1965 to 1975 time frame, the Society gave strict instructions to all young men that they should register for the Selective Service. It was often printed in the KM, and read out from the platform. However, the part where all young men were expected to refuse to be inducted was never printed or officially acknowledged. This act of civil disobedience was up to the "conscience" of each person.

But you could (and I know of a case who did) get DFd for joining the coast guard to avoid the army draft. I think it was OK to sneak off to Canada and wait for Jimmy Carter to rescue your sorry ass.

The reason for all this subterfuge was that they were trying to protect the society institution from charges that they encouraged draft dodging - when in fact they were doing exactly so. There were even secret elder instructions to tell the young guys to deny that the WT told them to refuse military service - you were supposed to say you thought it up all on your own.

And, to top it all of, as C.O.C. relates, at the same time you could bribe your way out of the draft if you lived in Mexico!

And...when they decided to give all this up, they again told everybody that if you did 5 years in the pen for their issue, you just did it on your own and should be glad you followed your conscience back then!!!

The poster of this thread should be ashamed of himself and retract his words. We did not make this up.

    sincerely, James Woods.

The terms Theocratic Warfare (God ruled or God directed warfare) and spiritual warfare (spirit directed warfare or warfare engaged in for spiritual interests) are used interchangably. Here are some recent references:

Jonathan himself was also a fighter for righteousness. He had declared that "there is no hindrance to Jehovah to save by many or by few." Why? Because Jonathan recognized that there is always a need to seek divine guidance for victory in theocratic warfare. When Jonathan unwittingly committed an offense for which Saul sentenced him to death, he humbly accepted that judgment. Happily, the people redeemed him.—1 Samuel 14:6, 9, 10, 24, 27, 43-45.

    w86 9/1 p. 18 par. 7 Christian Neutrals in a Bloodstained World ***

Since the shedding of blood was so clearly forbidden, why was it that Jehovah permitted, and even commanded, the nation of Israel to engage in warfare? We have to remember that this was a sanctified warfare by means of which Jehovah, the Judge of all the earth, had demon-worshiping nations exterminated. The Canaanites, for example, were squatters in the Promised Land and followed a demonistic, immoral life-style that would endanger God’s holy people. Jehovah had the land "vomit" those depraved humans out of their territory, using theocratic warfare to have it done. (Leviticus 18:1-30; Deuteronomy 7:1-6, 24) This justifies the spiritual warfare of the Christian today.—2 Corinthians 10:3-5; Ephesians 6:11-18.

    w05 9/1 p. 28 Let Jehovah’s "Saying" Safeguard You ***

True Christians are engaged in spiritual warfare. They contend with powerful foes—the invisible rulers of the present wicked system, who are described in the Bible as "the world rulers of this darkness, . . . the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12; 1 John 5:19) God’s people continue to be victorious—but not in their own strength. All credit goes to Jehovah, who safeguards and instructs them, as stated at Psalm 18:30: "The saying of Jehovah is a refined one. A shield he is to all those taking refuge in him."

    ***

    w05 9/1 p. 31 Let Jehovah’s "Saying" Safeguard You ***

Because the Greek soldiers at Marathon closed ranks and held on to their shields with all their might, they won despite overwhelming odds. Likewise, Jehovah’s loyal Witnesses are assured of complete victory in their spiritual warfare, for that is their "hereditary possession." (Isaiah 54:17) Hence, let each of us continue to take refuge in Jehovah by maintaining "a tight grip on the word of life."—Philippians 2:16.

    *** w05 10/1 p. 9 Highlights From the Book of First Chronicles ***

5:10, 18-22. In the days of King Saul, the tribes east of the Jordan defeated the Hagrites even though these tribes were outnumbered more than 2 to 1. This was because the valiant men of these tribes trusted in Jehovah and looked to him for help. Let us have complete confidence in Jehovah as we carry on our spiritual warfare against formidable odds.—Ephesians 6:10-17.

As always, make of it what you will.

Those references talk about "theocratic warfare" - but certainly not with the sense that apostates use the term!

If JWs are simply accused of believing that Jehovah's will carry on a battle against the unrighteous, then I suppose they do have a "theocratic warfare" doctrine. But that is not what we are talking about, is it? Let's stick to the point.

The point is exactly this: you have been given exact quotations of this term, and practical examples where the society has actively deceived both their own people and also various governments and the general public whenever it served their purpose.

They are dishonest in that regard.

So are you in this stubborn and ridiculous thread.

Slimfatboy, well your saying your not a JW, so why do you keep on defending them? Are you trying to spy on the behalf of the watchtower??? Since they monitor these boards, I'm not accusiing you by anyways, but you sound like a JW who refuses to listen to valid arguments.

    Slimboyfat,

Despite your attempt to rewrite WTS history and denigrate those of us that know from both presonal experience and have sat thru the indoctrination sessions...err, meetings, that Theocratic warfare strategy is a fact, and is currently being employed in order to protect child molesters.

    Slimboyfat,

My previous post exposed you as either thick as a brick a liar or a combination of both. Yes many of us used the term "theocratic warfare" as JW's, particularly 'society men'. As well you have been shown to be dead wrong in misplacing "communist officer" with Gestapo" and from that making a non sequetorial link to the Nazis.

Yes it is the job of apostates to expose the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society as the filthy disgusting liing hounds of darkness that they are. Apostates are a disperate group. In all your blathering and misrepresentation and misinformmation you are yet to explain what exactly you believe the "apostate" stance on theocratic warfare is. Given reasoning is not your strong suite I'm not holding my breath for a reasoned response.

again and in their own words:

Considering themselves to occupy the moral high ground, many Jehovah's Witnesses™ are blissfully unaware that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society™ encourages™ them to lie. Many would run screaming “apostate lies!™” at the thought. Yet, according to the Society's own literature™, to lie and deceive in the interests of Jehovah's Earthly Organization™ is scripturally approved™. In fact lying was long ago included in their "theocratic war strategy™".

Consider the following quotation: "A Witness™ of Jehovah™ was going from house to house™ in
