I have a copy of the purple KIT. If I were to bring it out during a conversation with "door knockers", to prove a specific point I was trying to make (essentially to prove them wront), what would they do; what would their reaction be? Leave? Or, would they say that this book is no longer in print and therefore not valid any more? Or, something else? I've read through it, to a degree, and can see where this would cause a lot of problems for them.

In some ways, the fact that the Kingdom Interlinear is rarely ever consulted, and appears now to be out of print, backs up my assertion that the WTB&TS is less and less interested in doctrine and theology - only interested in rules and regulations.
I keep my copy of the Kingdom Interlinear and the Emphatic Diaglott to hand. It is interesting that the Kingdom Interlinear seems to be totally based on the Diaglott. The Kingdom Interlinear looks a bit of a rip-off to me.

I once used the KIT with two JWs who happened to knock at my door shortly after I was df'd (they didn't know me). I listened to them a little while until one of them mentioned the importance of calling God "Jehovah" and quoted from Romans 10:13 NWT. I fetched my KIT (one of the rare WT books I had kept) and had them read the whole chapter with me, pointing to the various uses of kurios and their function in the Pauline argument. I showed them how the substitution of "Jehovah" to kurios in v. 30 annihilates the reasoning. They were obviously astounded. Never heard of them again (no surprise here).

When speaking with a few JW's, I asked them to reference their Kingdom Interlinear Translation. They had no idea what I was talking about..

The first edition of the KIT was released in 1969 with a woefully inadequate printing run. Just half a million copies to serve the then one and a half million WT followers. The "brothers" were told not to take more than a single copy per family.
In 1985, a second edition was published, again with a woefully low printing run. Just eight hundred thousand copies for the whole WT population of 5 Mill. The fact that the printing runs were so low is an indication that the WTS was not really serioius in placing these copies with each Witness in their congregations, let alone with the public at large.[Compare this with the nearly 40 mill publishing run for the NWT] It appears more to be a veneer indicating either to the ignorant or the credulous that the WTS does indeed have adequate NT backing for their idiotic renderings.
The text of the two editions are virtually identical except for the following:
1 For some reason the ' 85 edition stands half an inch shorter, and is more a pocket sized edition.
2 The cover has standard gold leaf embossing, while the earlier one has italic embossing
3 The earlier edition makes use of 21 "J" documents for their "Jehovah" renderings in the NT, while the " 85 edition has 27 such "J"s Not that this makes any difference since these are merely Hebrew translations of the Erasmus TR NT text, which the JWs do not endorse. [Particularly because of the Johannine Comma at 1Jo 4:8]
4 The only change in the text itself is to change the interlinear translation of "Theothes" at Col 2:9. The original had "godship" [small "G"] this has been changed to "divinity" [small "D"]
5 The major change is in the explanations given in the Appendix section. The original ' 68 made pompous remarks about no archaeological evidence for a transverse crucifiction in Bible times. Promptly a report was published in Newsweek and Time magazines telling of the finding of a tomb of a man who, in Bible times WAS indeed crucified in the transverse position. So the offending statement has been quietly excised from the second edition. Other adjustments in the Appendix have also been needed.
The Emphatic Diaglott no longer belongs to the WTS, the copyright having expired in 1982. It is now available in the public domain and various sites, such as "Online Bibles, North America" have it for free download.

The Watchtower's book called "Theocratic Aid to Kingdom Publishers" (published in 1945) says on page 261 "Benjamin Wilson, a Christadelphian, published a translation of the Greek Scriptures in 1864, in New York, and designated his work The Emphatic Diaglott." However from my research I learned that Benjamin Wilson did not remain a Christadelphian, but instead co-founded the Church 0f God Abrahamic Faith. A Christadelphian church publisher and a Church 0f God Abrahamic Faith church publisher (namely The Abrahamic Faith Beacon Publishing Society, Inc. and The Christadelphian Advancement Trust) now jointly publish the Emphatic Diaglott. Their edition looks like a photographically enlarged edition of the Watchtower 1942 edition and even has a similar looking cover. Theirs has wide margins and on its title page it says "2004 Edition". That edition includes a brief history of the Diaglott and it includes a brief biography of Benjamin Wilson and his church. that edition can currently be found on eBay. The Christadelphian Church does not believe in a personal devil, however apparently Benjamin Wilson did at the time he published his translation because in his Appendix under "Satan" he describes Satan the Devil in personal terms. Many members of the Church 0f God Abrahamic Faith believe in a personal devil (info about the church is at their website at http://www.abc-coggc.org/ ). Regarding the Kingdom Interlinear, when I worked as a Literature Servant in the local Kingdom Hall, we used a Watchtower publication list booklet which listed all of the publications which could be ordered from the Society. Certain items, such as the Kingdom Interlinear, Leather Deluxe Editions of the NWT, Comprensive Concordance to the NWT, Bound Volumes, VHS tapes, Calendars, etc., were considered controlled stock items and were thus often not stock in the Kingdom Hall literature counter unless a member of the congregation specifically ordered them. If the Watchtower still publishes the Kingdom Interlinear, a publisher who wants one might have to specifically check the publication list booklet (or whatever is its current proper name) to see if the item is still available for ordering. I stopped attending the Kingdom Hall some time between 2000 and 2002. Contact I have with others indicates that the Society no longer publishes the Diaglott and they possibly are no longer publishing the Kingdom Interlinear.

By the way, in the history stated in the "2004 Edition" of the The Emphatic Diaglott, I think it said that the WT had published the Diaglott for many years. I think it might even have said that the WT transferred the printing plates of the Diaglott to those who are now the publishers of the "2004 Edition", but I am not certain of that.

This may be old news, but the JW app contains the Kingdom Interlinear, with the Interlinear portion in English. It isn't exactly the same as the print version, as it does not contain the parallel English NWT on the right side.
