    NY44M,

That is a one of the saddest things I can think of--and no one at Bethel apparently batted an eyelash at it.

It's one of 2 things--in Jehovah's eyes, even senility and advanced dementia is no excuse for not "preaching the good news", or appearances are far more important than effectiveness, or even compassion. It would "appear" bad to have an inactive/irregular publisher on the Governing Body--even if it means subjecting a poor, sick old man to being propped up with a magazine on his chest.

    Not sure which is worse.

He had Wt's pinned to his chest.

That's as bad as taping them to a car window! How pathetic, using an incoherent old man as a WT display shelf.

Also, I doubt that Teddy ol' boy goes out. He seems too important.

I've seen Martin Pötzinger out in service while he was on the GB. He would engage in "street work" at a local subway station. I'm in NYC fairly often and when I see JWs doing street work they usually have a "display" and are talking to each other. Only if someone approaches them will they witness. Pötzinger would yell out the title of the Watchtower articles and generally make himself known far and wide. I've seen George Gangas engage in street work also while he was on the GB. I think he scared many, though, as he walked kinda' slumped over and he had a fairly heavy accent... :-)

Actually 4 to 5 of them are under 60 years old. Not too feeble to go door to door.

But I though the sealing took place before 1935?

My childhood friend, Johnny, is the one who brought me in to the "truth" and he is still an active JW. We use to get together clandestinely to chum about for conversation. But, my "apostate" profile put him in too much danger. I don't see him anymore.

According to him (don't know where he came up with it) Raymond Franz was kicked out of Bethel for not going out in service!! Ha ha ha. That must be the cover story.

    T.
