how do guys ask you out on a date these days?
I don't ask. I've had enough rejection for a dozen lifetimes. If a woman wants to go out with me she can ask me.
Turtlenecks are only a good idea if you're not interested in a second date with the guy. Showing a little cleavage is a better idea.

When did this happen? Most men today will NOT ask a woman out, because they're too intimidated by her good looks (or they find her unattractive).

If you like someone, the best way to find out if they like you back is to ASK THEM OUT!!!!This is good advice. It often will work to your benefit as you come across as a stronger individual. The men who value strength in a woman and equality in a relationship will make a check in the "Pro" column for you.
Well, I have had to learn the hard way since gettin out that a lot of guys hang out with girls in a purely platonic way...
imagine that!! So make sure he is really actually into you- not like the witnoids, where if a memeber of the opposite sex glances your way wedding bells automatically ring...

I didn't look for "clues" because I never really cared whether she was interested or not. Why should I frustrate myself trying to read into "womanese" when I could just find out right away if she was interested. Just go for it and if you get a negative response, move on. Once you get a few rejections under your belt, it doesn't really bother you anymore.
Sounds like the guy has already made the first move. If you're halfway interested then accept and arrive sober. As for anything else, play it by ear - you already have his attention, so why work harder than you have to?

I was told by my therapist (a man) that men do not lust after overweight (fat if you will) women. They just don't he says. men want a slim woman. They will be friends with you, but if it is lust you are looking for, he says men don't lust for heavy women. Is this true?

Of course. I do. I know I am tall..and some say I don't look it, but I see that extra 50 lbs I picked up. But amazingly if you carry yourself like you don't care...like you have value even if you are overweight...the dates keep coming. Oh and smile a lot.
