Hello to you too, and Welcome!
Where and when did you live in Colorado?
I was in Boulder from ~1997-1999.
You can pm me if you don't want to put your location down in print... (those fears disappear in time too...)

Welcome, In Between. I'm a new guy too just like you.
I find your comments about comparing yourself to Anakin quite thought provoking. I myself have recently felt a lot like him, comparing my thoughts and actions to him, without consciously knowing why. Reading your post has been an insight for me, as I think I've been enlightened.
Joining these forums is a good first step to cope with your sad experience. -

Welcome! Here is the key that unlocks the door of fear of the unknown.
"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation." HERBERT SPENCER
Religious training, like we had from the Jehovah's Witnesses, is a disease. Recovery requires treatment. The treatment for me was education. I wish I'd had modern Internet resources when I was challenging my own delusions.
I recommend Crisis Of Conscience.

Welcome In Between
Although my user name could indicate that we are in similar circumstances, my thread snapped almost a year ago. I enjoyed reading your story and could see myself at several points that you have gone through. This board is just part of a group of support that you can use. While you could never rant to an elder (he'd only tell you to wait on Jehovah anyway) you can rant here when you want to and we will listen. We will provide support to keep you emotionally balanced.
You questioned where you go now. Boy I was there. Looking back on some of my earlier posts, I make a comment about being on a path (WT) couldn't see where it was going but scared to go back. Then a wise poster said which I will paraphrase for you. Make your own path. You will experience emotional and spiritual indecisiveness. This is normal because you have never been taught how to deal with making a personal decision before. As time goes on you will balance out and things will be seen for what they really are.
Take your time but find others in your area that are faders. I associate with faders, DA and DF'd persons. I know the circumstances regarding their leaving and it wasn't for what the elders want me to believe. Even if you find someone who is DF'd, they might still love Jehovah and that could be important to you. There is a difference between loving Jehovah and loving the organization. They are not the same. Good Luck and remember. We are here.

Welcome to In between !
Star Wars is not my thing these days but I can relate to the scene as you relate it. We have all come from the darkness into the light, even though our relatives view us as having stepped over to the dark side of the force. The World is not necessarily the dark evil place that the Watchtower portrays.
May your path be enlightening....

Welcome to the forum, in between. Leaving can be very hard, but staying is harder. Things will become clearer and you will slowly begin to feel better as you talk it out. We're glad you're here.
