The love and compassion of former JWs should set an example for current JWs on how to BE friends. No conditions or stipulations, and the freedom the BE different and to THINK differently on any number of things.

Sunspot hope all goes well with the surgery, I am awaiting surgery right now have several of them coming up as a matter of fact, but hey thats life, I don't worry about them, doesn't do much good anyway to do so.
