Anyone here who was removed from volunteering on the RBC?

Or did you remove someone yourself?

A recent KM announcement said that everyone on the RBC list of volunteers had to be updated. This includes brothers who were appointed to MS's or Elders.

It also includes those who do not qualify any longer.

Anyone here with info on who maintains these lists? Is it the PO?

Or do you have any interesting info on the Regional Building Committee?

My hubby was told last summer if he wasn't more regular in service he would no longer qualify for Quick Builds ( he has been a volunteer for over 15yrs.) He removed himself .

I think they go through the list every so often and purge it of DFd, DAd, inactive ones, dead ones and those who don't want to or can't help anymore. I don't think anything sinister is going on. Just house keeping of the records.

I was approved for quick builds and got notices every few weeks about a new hall going up somewhere. Funny thing was, I only went to two and they were within a 20 mile radius. I was too lazy to go to any others. But I kept getting notices. They finally stopped coming after I had been inactive for over two years. I think I got purged.

They post a notice to do this every year in the KM about the same month for more than 6 to 7 years. I think the secretary keeps track.

The secretary should see that the Regional Building Committee is kept up-to-date on the status of all baptized publishers who have submitted Kingdom Hall Volunteer Worker Questionnaire (S-82) forms

I went to the quick build of the local KH but I didn't do anything, I just talked to a few old friends and left.

I did help build a local church but I can't remember what I actually did.

my dad was on the RBC for a short time in the 1990's. One of the actual committees itself for NY. big whoop. no one went regularly. and those that did were either 1)a bunch of brain-dead buddha bellies waddling around or 2) bunch of horny teenagers looking to meet sisters.

    ugh.

My ex-wife just volunteered and was accepted to be part of the area's RBC. She told me they had a RBC meeting at the local hall for volunteers, and several hundred showed up. I agree that it's a routine thing to keep the records current.

I never did quite get to the point of giving my time free for something that the congregation was getting billed for later. I was a gen. building contractor in California. I felt that was was money maker, I would help the poor in the congo, but refused to give time to the org. THe only one I did attemp to service I ran into the little pissy elder that thought he knew everything about construction and I picked up my tools and went home...

Yep, secretary keeps these lists, copies of the application, and supposed to keep them up to date, only spiritual people please. Funny how if someone has a special ability, rules can bend to allow them to help with kh constructions.
The co gets a copy every time he comes to visit of the list, obviously the rbc have the major database.
Occasionally someone doesn't play ball properly and they have to be "removed".......sad sad sad...just enjoy all your free weekends and if you do work, GET PAID!!!
