That was the question that I was asked this morning by the nurse before undergoing my procedures at the hospital. She said, "some people can't take blood because of their religious beliefs." I said: "I know. I used to be a Jehovah's Witness and if needed I will take a blood transfusion".......Now that was the first time I ever expressed those words! All went well, and although still a little bit in "la la land", I'm feeling pretty good.
"If You Needed A Blood Transfusion Would You Take It?''

I have made it clear to my wife that if I or the children need blood transfusions, we will be getting them. She may do as she pleases.

Glad you are feeling better Min! La la aint so bad :) Yeah Id take one. And we DO have the option if we know in advance to store and use our OWN blood. So yeah...life is waaaay more important than some stupid stand based on lies and conjecture and tenuous translation of scriptures.

I would if need be. I have thought more of what I would do if one of my kids needed one since I would have to fight against my wife and the rest of my JW fam. in order for my kid to have one. In fact I would probably lose my wife and JW fam. if that happened.

Yeah I would, bring it on. I ain't dying for some antiquated, obsolete law from thousands of years ago.
Also I would let my kids have blood and their jw dad will just have to lump it! -

Anyone that is not suicidal and cherishes life should do it against the small risk of getting infected with one disease or other. Most of the thousands of dead JWs that refused a transfusion would have lived had they accepted one.

You know what? It felt good to say that "i used to be a Jehovah's Witness", but of course, everything feels good right now.....

Good Girl or Bad Girl?
What's the scriptural reason for not taking blood transfusions again...?
A little boy in my hall died of cancer about 7 years ago. He was the sweetest, cutest kid. He would be here if his parents hadn't refused blood transfusions....most likely anyway, that's what the doctors said....his parents left the JW's pretty much right after his funeral...it's so sad. The few times I've seen them since then they look so dejected, broken, ruined...their lives have been ruined because of this "stand for Jehovah." Why would God want that?!!? How does that prove Satan a liar?
The scriptural reason is something like taking blood through your veins is the same as consuming it through your mouth or something...it's a scripture in Acts...?
I think I would take a blood transfusion if it was necessary. Doesn't the Bible say we should value our lives? Is it valuing your life to commit suicide by refusing blood?
