As a child, Willard always wanted to be a pirate. Then he became an Elderâ„¢ and Book Study Conductorâ„¢ and realized that this was as close as he would ever get to fulfilling his childhood dream.

A guy walks up to the conductor and says: "Where'd ya get the monkey?". The conductor says: "That's not a monkey, it's an owl.". The guy says: "I was talking to the owl.".

So, who's going to get a picture in the next yearbook then?

Lets hope that nobody is seasick . and seriously that the contraption never sinks. if too many come, will they have the backbone to turn them away, or let it overload?

at least the pic of the congregation does not look staged - but where did he get the bird?

In the tropics, the wildlife is EVERYWHERE. I'd say the owl is likely a local pet.

That is one cute KH, and I am not surprised that attendance is up. Building a contraption like that in the jungle is going to get a lot of attention. Now that the concept is a proven success, I am sure the society will do a lovely write-up in their magazine.

NOTE: A dead organization does not encourage innovation, but is quite able to accept credit once proven.

P.S. The bird-watcher in me is going crazy right now trying to pin down that owl. Possibly a juvenile white-throated screech owl, or a juvenile black-and-white owl? Or perhaps a juvenile spectacled owl.
