B-12 shot for the WT -"Deliverance" DC & Mideast flare up timing

Once again, world events come along and give the WT a free booster shot. Nothing better than coming home from the DC, opening the paper and seeing headlines like "Mideast in Flames" "Is nuclear confrontation far off?" "North Korea tests Nuke capable Missiles" etc etc. If only there could be another huge earthquake right now it would be perfect. I remember a JW who was about 75% out of the org. when the Gulf war started. They got their ass back in the KH so fast it was comical.

"Well, Martha, Armageddon could start any moment now."

Of course, when it all blows over there will be something else.

That's the beauty of this little scam they have going, isn't it, Gregor? As far as I can tell, Jesus was just describing the human condition.
It's like a gypsy fortune teller who says "I see a mannnnn in your life... who dieeeed...." and the person's all like "THAT'S AMAZING!!! HOW DID YOU KNOW!!! MY FATHER/HUSBAND/BROTHER/BOSS/DOCTOR DIED!!!!!" It's one of the oldest tricks in the book. Describe something vague and mundane, and say it's a prophecy or a revelation. Wash, rinse, and repeat.

I couldn't agree more. WHat better way to exploit the natural human condition (which, oddly enough, isn't that much different than the natural animal condition) than to use death and struggle and turmoil to support your pronouncements.

It's clear that many JWs will see this as proof that the Watchtower Society has some kind of mystical quality of forseeing future events. But, were any of these conditions a surprise? Government officials, journalists, and academics all predicted a large war involving Isreal with at least one of it's neighbors. As soon as the new Iranian president took office, he started saying that Isreal needed to be wiped off the map. As far as North Korea is concerned, that too was anticipated by just about anyone who follows the news.

My gut feeling tells me that this is probably going to be similar to WWII where the end of this system looked as if it was beginning to occur. The outbreak of WWII even fooled J.F. Rutheford. He was convinced that Armageddon was going to happen within a couple of years, and said so at the District Conventions. This just might be history repeating itself.

Most dubs are very impressionable and they get so excited about very ordinary things, they are too gullible and fall victim to the JW propaganda. Wars and natural disasters have always been going on and they shouldn't read anything special in them especially after so many false predictions by the org over 120 years.

Did he ever put that in writing?

Yes, but the reality is that these flareups are mere blips on the radar. The website www.dieoff.org makes predictions of doom as well, but does so from a purely secular/scientific point of view, with no Kingdom of God to take over at the last second. Other writers, like James Howard Kunstler in his book The Long Emergency, make a decent case for assuming that the 21st century will be difficult, to say the least, for the less well off portion of humanity, which is to say the vast majority. (Please, no comments about how great everything is just because one lives in a protected bubble of wealth and social privilege.) I think it would be safe to assume that ten billion people will die before the dawn of the 22nd century, maybe more, maybe less. Even spread out over the next 94 years, that is still an unprecedented amount, nothing like it in all of human history.
So, yes, the Witnesses have much fuel for their fire, so to speak. Long live religion, I say. Just don't go running back to the Kingdom Hall.

Your forgetting," that these things must occur, but, the end is not yet." Jesus. This hatred between the Jews and Islamics has been ongoing for centuries. The only thing that has changed is the fire power being used.It has nothing to do with the end of the world as we know it. People will die as a result of this war not because of some Bible verses that the Watchtower keeps spinning every time an event like this happens.

The Cuban Missile crisis in the USA was tops everybody was scared shitless the Russians had 4 X's as many nukes as Kennedy knew about and they were 12 megaton

Each Russian launcher was independently controlled by vodka happy firing crews the missile 'fail safe' was two step as easy as starting your car.The only time the American missile silos had their firing hatch open was that episode.

Nuke in the water,a broken down russian sub with broken air condition with 100 degree crew compartment had a nuke tipped torpedo in the tube while American sailors above dropped hand grenades on top of the Russian sub to simulate depth charges and 'scare' the russkies. The Russian crew had orders to die before surrender.

World War two 3,500 British civilians perished from just the V-1 buzz bomb..

Every Jehovah's Witness member will grow old and die just like everyone else. There is no Armageddon that will annihilate 6.5 billion people, and install Watchtower leaders as world rulers. That's all you need to know.Best regards,Danny Haszard
