Our presiding overseer said the identical thing on Thursday. He talked about North Korea, bombings in Bombay, and Israel-Lebanon all coming at the same time as the District Convention. All this on top of Hurricane Katrina/London/Madrid and the Asian Tsunami. Armageddon is just around the corner
I agree with the comment that all we need now is a big earthquake and the JWs will be in ecstasy
Gregor your remarks make me remember the 80's when I was growing up JW. During that time we had MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction), the height of the cold war, nuclear proliferation, and the movie "The day after tomorrow" on TV.
In our JW-mind, these things were CLEARLY an indication of the end of times. As an adult I can now see that the rest of the world did not have the same impression of the 'times,' but just continued living to the best of their ability.
I believe this is the same situation. Only doomsday prophets rejoice in the deliverance of bad news, instead calling it "Good News."
So, who is the king of the north, and when will "peace and security" happen?

Oh, and I forgot the Great Tribulation didn't happen yet. Christendom is still well and alive, and hasn't fallen yet.

The folks are Brooklyn just need to revise their 'Babylon the Great has Fallen' text to reflect this, and re-issue the book for Tuesday night study... (I'm sure this 'dates' me...)

Any Armageddon will ,depressingly,be totally man made imo.
In January the Revelation book will be studied again and will get everyone on the band wagon how close the end is according to the GB due to the events we see on earth and of course more self-glorificationon how Jesus has used them since 1918.

When I was challenged on this I replied that by having studied it three times already and conducted the study twice as book study conductor, I had made copious notes in the margins and on the illustrations and it would be unfair on the brothers NOT to share these with the brothers. SO I would be using the same book as it would be unfair to do otheriwse.

I remember when 911 happened, I hadnt been going to the meetings for a while and when I woke up that morning and saw what had happened I just fell apart! I just knew that this system was comming to an end and I was going to die because I wasnt a strong JW.
See how crazy this organization makes us? I went and got the revelation book and started reading like crazy! and started going back to the meetings and see how long its been since then and no end to this world like they have been telling us!! I dont believe a thing they say now and I have finally started researching the Watchtower and seeing how many lies they have told us, its been hard to deal with all the lies that I grew up with but at least I am free from that now!
