I guess i'm the same. We get older and we then appreciate many of the good things we see in our parents. Sometimes I see/have seen qualities in my parents I wish I now had.

The older I get the more I begin to realize just how much like my parents that I am. It doesnt bother me though. I love both of them.

My mom had a strong personality and was most often opinionated. She has certain sayings she used. When they come out of my mouth today I stop, as you all have, and say "hi mom."
Its nice to hear her voice now and then, but it doesn't take away the longing to see her again. We miss her more than her words can say.
