I hold a BA in Biology and an MBA with an emphasis in Telecommunications and Finance, but I still can't remember any good jokes.
I would buy the 5%. I went to a KH while in college just to see what had changed. Mostly all that had changed was that every kid was "home" schooled and every kid there had aspirations only of going to Bethel. None did anything outside the group.
Graduate students or ex-grad students on this board?

I don't think I have EVER met a JW who had a bachellors. A couple started and then dropped out and a mere handful had Associates degrees.
But all you fine folk really impress me. Now I know where I'll go if I have questions about any of your fields. Watch out!
If I were going to start over I'd get a degree in the history of science. Right now I am reading a cool book on the history of (phi) the Golden Ratio.

Yeah, I think it's also a statement on the "brain drain" the organization is facing. The 5% figure was quoted from a rather large study in the early 90's about the demographics of various religions. JWs also had the lowest household incomes as well. Gee, wonder if that isn't impacting their cash flows...

I have a BA in Sociology and will be applying for a Teaching fellowship sometime next year.
When I was a Senior in HS, the Awake article came out about persuing a "short" course of study post HS. I was encouraged to only go for an Associates Degree (which I got) and nothing else. Going for a Bachelors wasn't acceptable, but I did it anyway.

Kudra -- what's the book? I found this to be fascinating when reading DVC. I've told the kids that when they have a science project to do, that they should do it on Phi. :)

I have a Masters degree in Earth/Environmental Science, and have taught college level geology courses. My thesis was a crystal structure study of some layered phyllosilicates at high temperatures.

Merfi,
The book is: "The Golden Ratio: The Story of PHI, the World's Most Astonishing Number" it is by Mario Livio.
It is interesting to me but I'm not sure if younger kids would just eat it up. But it has about everything you'd want for a sci project- maybe they could make like, a dodecahedron out of pentagons.
Or they could tattoo the pentagram on their palms like the Pythagoreans!
