The absolute core doctrine [singular] is that of the 'Faithful and Discreet Slave Class' and thier selection in 1919 by Christ.

    Exactly so.

A quote from AlanF from many moons ago that still sticks with me is (paraphrasing) "The core teaching of the religion is that the Governing Body speaks for God."

Any and all other beliefs stem from this one. Once you understand this, all those puzzling bits begin to make sense.

DannyHaszard: the reason the Watchtower came into existence was to declare Jesus second coming in 1914.

I can see that. Since the effect of this doctrine is enforced strict adherence to every order from the collective Governing Body "cult leader" figurehead, the impact is still that all doctrine is core doctrine.

Oh, and, BTW Danny, I know you just forgot but the Watchtower came into existence to declare Jesus second coming as having already happened in 1874. Later they tried to make everyone believe they came into existence to declare 1914, but that is not how it really went down.

    Respectfully,

core beliefs== a being that knew nothing and had no one to learn from spawned another just like him though significantly inferior, then between them figured out how to make others and an entire universe which quickly spun out of control.... who is really surpized?

and since then he has attempted to bring everything back together again making some very grandious promises and then renigging on all of them and blaming those he promised because of their weakness, which presumably he was smart enough to know in advance...so he tricked them and duped them and still demands blind obediance and trust and cant figure out why so many reject him

The core beleif is that the Governing Body speaks for God.

You are so right. I remember sometimes, if someone asked a question out in field service, I'd think, "What is our position on that now? I will have to consult the latest (and only the latest) directive on that to know what I believe."

Thanks & correct but all JW's know about 1914 not the 1874 date so i appeal to them i have posted everywhere and nobody can refute it unless they outright lie and deny it

If you are not a jw, God is going to destroy you in 1914 1925 1975 SOON

    Jesus is not God.

    He was Michael the Archangel.

    He became Jesus.

    He went back to heaven.

Don't ask us where Michael the Archangel is today because questions that require INDEPENDENT THINKING are from Satan.

Holidays are pagan and if you observe them God is going to destroy you.

The Cross is pagan and if you wear one God is going to destroy you.

Child molestation requires two witnesses to be proved.

What exactly are the "Core Beliefs" of the WTBS? I was raised in it and don't even know what "they" are. Is it me or has these core beliefs been extremely fluid? I find Christianity outside of the bOrg to be so much easier to understand.

    What do you think?

    Josie

    Hi Josie!

I believe these are the 'Core Beliefs' of the Witnesses. On a personal level I still hold to these because I think they are correct. I stopped attending a KH over four years ago because of the abuse of authority at ALL levels and because of the endless flow of "man made" rules the GB invents.

  • God has a name (Jehovah) and is not a trinity.
  • Jesus is God's first creation.
  • The Angelic rebellion is the source of all our troubles.
  • The Great Tribulation and Armageddon are literal and coming.
  • God will use the worlds governments to destroy world religion.
  • The Thousand Year reign of Christ is real.
  • The Resurrection is the only hope for the dead to live again.
  • The Little Flock will become a literal Heavenly Government.
  • Satan and his Demons have a finite time to exist and will be terminated.

    1. Sell WTS literature (full-time, preferably).
    2. Attend all the meetings.
    3. Obey all the rules (yes, all 10,000 of them).
    4. Convert as many unsuspecting victims as you can.
    5. Never question or doubt the WTS.
    6. Keep selling WTS literature.
