It might simply be their way of apologizing to you for the treatment you received at the hands of the organization. In my considerable experience, I saw that many dubs are inwardly ashamed of the DF process and look for subtle, covert ways to show they don't fully support it, at least on a case by case basis.

I don't think all witnesses are bad people. They can be just as nice as non JW. Sometimes their personalities won't let them be rude to non JW, even if that is what they are taught. Some truly are christian like people, I think that is all thats going on...
