is a letter to the editor really considered an article? edited to clarify: is a letter to the editor really considered a "news" article?
Thus, all the features of the last days must take place within the lifetime of one generation, the generation of 1914. So some people who were alive in 1914 will still be alive when this system comes to its end.
That is conforting news. We must really be close because those people are really old.

Very odd. I used the search function using the words "generation of 1914" and 3 results came up. The first was the 1993 article in discussion. The next two were a tract that didn't use the word generation in it and an old brochure that alluded to the doctrine. Just how extensive is the archive? It would seem from those results, not very extensive. Why then include an article that contains doctrine no longer taught? I wonder if its just sloppiness on the part of the site designers.

Dear Sir:
I also caught this article on the Watchtower's website about six months ago ("Jehovah's Witnesses' bait and switch deception"). I emailed all the Witnesses I knew and ex-Witnesses to ask them why the Watchtower Society was being deceitful to the public.
When news got back to the Watchtower - within one day - they promptly removed this article and claimed that they put it up "by mistake". Well, lo and behold - here it is up again!
To those of us who were once Jehovah's Witnesses (I for 12 years), these deceitful practices and backpedaling on teachings are nothing new but the public needs to be warned. The information that is given to them and the truth given to the members of this cultic religion are not one and the same.
Please beware as the Watchtower Society continues to speak out of both sides of their mouths .

Has the Watchtower page recently been reposted on their site? Or.....has it been there since 1995, lol, and they just forgot about it.
Good one Lil...............
Considering even some active JWs STILL dont unerstand the generation change...............why would the public?
I couldn't believe it when I saw that this article with the old "generation" view was on the WT website again. Like I said several months ago it was up and I raised a big stink at that time. I emailed lots of people asking them "why is the Society using the old view of the generation of 1914 to the public?" Well, we know why to scare new ones into the org. by making them think time will run out soon.
I included in my email the WT that made the change. Randy had it up on his site, also Danny and Doc Bob and others who run exJW sites. I sent it to over 100 people. Many of the current Witnesses called the society and the "society" said they made a mistake and took it down that very day.
Well either they are not screening the articles before they put them up OR, they are being decieptful to the public. I vote for the latter and I am sure most of us will as we know the WT is decieptful and has a forked tongue!
To all you current Witnesses, If I was you, I would check the WT website daily and the newspapers as many articles have come out against the WT that the WT claimed was written by Apostates and was not true. Please do your own research as the Society wants to keep you in under any circumstances. Their livelyhood depends on it and they will do this with outright LYING.
