  VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday's terror attacks occurred because Americans have insulted God and lost the protection of heaven.

  "We have imagined ourselves invulnerable and have been consumed by the pursuit of ... health, wealth, material pleasures and sexuality," Robertson wrote in a three-page statement issued Thursday by his Christian Broadcasting Network.

  "It (terrorism) is happening because God Almighty is lifting his protection from us," said Robertson.

  You christians sure have some wonderful leaders!

  Pat robertson is stuck in old testement mentality. If something bad happens god is mad. If something good happens god is pleased with us. If this reasoning is true then americans should: get unhealthy, give away their wealth, weapons etc, stop buying luxeries, become more anal retentive. Then the old testement god would protect them again and make them healthy, wealthy, giving lots of luxeries. But then they would start enjoying those things again so god would get mad again and on and on. Strange indeed!

  They should attempt to be like jesus. Should forget the old testement and pauls writings that advance old testement ideas. Then they have no framework or theology. Nothing with which to control people. Everyone could just pay attention to their own spirituality. Anarchy! We can'thave that.

  This is a real problem to those who have been conditioned in their mindset by the JW’s as we have. History has turned Christianity into a label, not the way of life that it was intended to be. Christians should be noticeable not by labels but by actions. When the Acts 11:26 mentions that by ‘divine providence they were called Christian’ it does not mean that God chose that label for them. Check this out in a good quality commentary. They had been functioning for many years as people who were simply known as being in ‘The Way’. They needed no label, their way of life identified them. A wonderful freedom given to men; the freedom to be as good and kind and compassionate as we wish, has been buried under labels and doctrinal schisms.

  So the question really Winston is not who are the true Christians but what are true Christians. Check out Matt 25 where it is quite clear that those that Jesus acknowledges as ‘true Christians’ are the ones who least expect to be acknowledged as such. Their kind acts and humility identified them as such.

  Pat Robertson may be a true Christian he may not, that is not for us to judge, but we certainly will not find out while he is talking, it is the doing that counts! Beware of those that tell you they are Christians admire those that show you.
