Agappa - with all due respect it isn't very comforting really. Its like me saying I'm going to make you perfect in every way - except I have no power to do so. The chap who wrote that didnt either.

Dreaming of something like perfect health may be comforting but its an empty platitude and it is better to concentrate on living healthily then waiting for something that in all probability isnt going to happen.

Ya, here's one to comfort those who are being persecuted - Psalm 137:7-9

I respect your opinion crumpet.Your right there is nothing wrong with dreaming of better things but along with that we need to work towards our dreams. Living healthy is an excellent idea. However that scripture ENCOMPASSES the wiping away of ALL the things that cause us to suffer. All the things that cause us to tear and cry out and be in pain and morn. And man! there are many things in life that tears us down

    agape:

I'd like to know exactly why you made a thread stating that text was comforting to you - but you haven't explained why.

You see, it's not enough to simply take some random words out of the Bible and then ascribe some magical qualities to them You need to take the whole context and explain that

BTW yes, I do find that (and all other texts) comforting.

    Now, to my question......

Too right...from his earlier ramblings I think he was probably high!

Ah, now we're getting down to it:

However that scripture ENCOMPASSES the wiping away of ALL the things that cause us to suffer.
    Who is the "us" ?

All Humans in His book of remeberance

    Where does it say that?

Remember: you've started a thread listing these as comforting words. You've stated that they are directed to all humans and now you contradict yourself by saying they are those in "God's remembrance". Have I got that clear?
