It's not strictly true to say that they didn't factor in Eve's creation in their 1975 prediction. They did, and concluded that it was only a matter of months after Adam's creation that Eve was created. Or I should say, Freddie Franze concluded that, most of the rest of the writing department back then were much more cautious, but Freddie ruled the roost in such matters so his view prevailed. Until it all failed of course.

Hoser - on why 40 years - well, in some of the WT publications, mention is made that 40 years seems to be a biblical precedent for maturity (spiritual maturity) and development. Eg: the Israelites wandering in the desert for 40 years, Moses hanging around with the Midianites for 40 years before he encountered the burning bush.... Jesus fasting for 40 days.... It all makes perfect sense, you see. -

I remember the embarrassment of reading the Time article of July 11 1977, where Fred Franz states that the problem is we don't know how long it took Adam to name the animals, oy.

interestingly the judging of the dead is not done till after the 1000 years, and after the unknown period of time that Satan is let out to mislead, AGAIN, so there is no resurrection IN the 1000 years that i see.

Even if that's what it all hung on, the 40 year thing just dosen't work. For how long was it from the time Eve was created, till the time she eat the fruit, 10 years, a few decades, 100 years? Nothing in the bible, tells either time frame, nor dose it give a time frame for when Adam was created, just because the Jewish calender points towards a date, for his creation, dose not make it so!
Before D day in 1944 only 2 people know for sure when it was going to be, lots of guessing, but until the order was given, the allied army's only knew it was coming!
