Perhaps you could defend them by explaining that they were not 'Murdering' but 'Killing.'

Reams and reams of the Bible don't make sense to me, but this part really stuck in my head. I recall thinking "WTF? Jehovah is one spooky dude man, and the Bible is kinda creepy." G

You really can't see the difference? That's why they are charged with war crimes, but, every soldier that kills is not a murderer. Is a police officer a murderer if he kills to protect your life our that of another?
If God created life he alone has the right to take it, or have it taken.

I always thought the story of Jephthah's daughter was a real hard luck story.It's in Judges, I think, and he offerred the first thing to come out of his house as a sacrifice if jah would grant him victory in battle. It happened to be his only child, a daughter. He didn't have to kill her, but she had to stay a virgin all her life, poor girl. She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Are you sure about that? The Watchtower Society always said the sacrifice was of her service to the temple, but there are a lot of other translations that scholars use to support that it was actual human sacrifice. When I read that, I just had more doubts about the WTBTS and their candy-coated religion. It also made me wonder how Jehovah, who detested the human sacrifice of other nations around Israel, could do this. He asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, then refused Abraham's sacrifice of Issac, but Jepthah's daughter was okay. Why? Because she was a woman? Because she made a nice smelling BBQ. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I looked the account up after I posted it, and it says this in the Amplified bible:
At the end of two months she returned to her father, who [a] did with her according to his vow which he had vowed. She never mated with a man. This became a custom in Israel--
The commentary on this account indicates she wasn't killed, but just gave up her chance to have children, which might well have been a fate worse than death in those days.

All the same, what was they made from? Was one supposed to get warm or cold when asking god a question? Did they throw them in a hat and had a blindfolded man pick a stone? Did they stone some evil doer with them and the stone that killed the man determined god's answer? What did they do with them?
