    OUTLAW:

I remember reading an article where some university students built an Ark of the Covenant to scale. The sucker turned out to be an energy collector.Touch it,and it would blow you across the room..BOOM!!..Your a dead man!!..The only way it could be touched, was after you grounded it..I still have the book I`ll have to dig it out..Still unpacking my new place...OUTLAW.

Apparently it works like a Leyden Jar. See http://drzaius.ics.uci.edu/blogs/setbang/2006/06/the_ark_of_the_covenant.html

on a recent documentary on discovery about the Exodus they showed small gold pieces from greece that depict the ark of the covenant. i'll look for a link or a picture.

It might have existed but not as what they claimed it was, I agree with what Terry said, how convenient that no one could see what was inside that box, they even provided a story to freighten the crap out of them if they were ever curious enough to want to open it, clever, clever. If that story was true, then whoever intended to steal it would have been killed trying to get it, or maybe Jehoover might have stricken them down, but instead it just disappeared! These days after seeing all the crap the Isrealites wrote I don't believe anything they say, their stories and lies have caused alot of bloodshed, starting with the Adam and Eve nonsense.

I really dont know what to think anymore. But if you want to experience another perspective to whats going on in the world check out some of the writings of David Icke. I would start with "children of the matrix". Its no more bizzare than the watchtower literature. He has a different twist to demon possession.

Now, there's been a lot of talk about how anyone who touched the magic box, other than the high priest, would die instantly.

We all seem to forget that the Phillistines stole the ark and desecrated it for 7 months, but God smote them with piles until they carved golden hemorrhoids. (1 Sam 5 & 6). So, the ark turned out to be a huge pain in the ass, but why didn't they die instantly, like Uzzah?

    RunningMan.....you silly apostate bastard!

Uzziah died right on the spot cuz he knew better. He was an Israelite Jehovahs Witness who was already dedicated to Jehovah and knew of his laws. He was more reprehensible. The Phillistines nutsacks all shriveled up like dried up grapes and it was a slow painful death and the bastards regretted what they did and sold the Ark back to the Israelites after David chopped off the giants big head.

I should have known that the mention of hemorrhoids would summon Gumby.

Now, I need to clarify this. It appears that the magic box didn't automatically kill everyone who touched it. It read their minds, determined their degree of guilt, and then dispensed justice ranging from execution to some degree of embarassing affliction. I guess if a cleaning lady dusted off the ark she would get something pretty minor - incontinence, perhaps? How Monty Python-esk.

IT WAS A BOX! It had gold on it! It was stolen and the gold was taken off! That's all it ever was and all it will ever be!

If these guys are so convinced it was a leyden jar why don't they make a replica and test it? CAUSE IT WOULDN'T WORK!

Are there ANY wooden artifacts that are that old? Anywhere? I don't recall ever hearing of anything like that! I mean no one has ever discovered king Solomons underwear dresser or anything have they?

This is an honest query I would really like to know!
