I enjoy the holidays now, but it's not a huge thing. We keep it pretty simple.

Have to say I've completely lost any belief in the supernatural. When my belief in the Bible ended, God, angels, Satan and demons all just disappeared. It was remarkable!

We keep xmas and thanksgiving simple. Thanksgiving has always been my fav. and I was one of those who had a turkey a week later with all the trimmings Witnesses.

I have not done Halloween yet as my hubby is opposed. Not sure how I feel about it but I am letting my kids go to a Halloween party at the local teen center for the first time. I figure they are old enough to make up their own minds about what to celebrate. And we did enough of compelling them to adhere to our (mine & hubbies) beliefs already. I kind of want to hand out candy to the kids who ring my bell though. They look sooooo cute in their costumes!

I love the kids birthdays now more than anything. My hubby won't do anything for my birthday though. Its kind of sad really. This past May my birthday fell on Mother's day too. NOTHING! Big wash out. I am hoping he will change his mind in the future. Lilly

After I quit, well, yes Christmas was not the same as before. I converted to Judasim in 2001 and now I have all new Holidays and none of them have been tainted by JW teachings or old negative feelings. Going back to celebrating birthdays was never a problem for me.

I celebrated my first christmas for years last year, and it was ok, just seemed strange though. This year might be better.

I wasn’t raised a JW and celebrated the holiday’s growing up. My family was really into all the holidays and birthdays but I never was into them so, when I became a JW it really was not an issue for me not to celebrate. Now that I don’t believe the WTS lies, I still don’t celebrate holidays (I’m still attending meetings for family reasons) however, I participate in activates in my work related to holidays and b-days.

I can't get into the jolly jolly feeling of christmas, either. I absolutely HATE christmas at my job. They start playing christmas music Nov1st! Oh my God, I feel like pulling out my freakin hair! If I hear another verison of Santa baby or white christmas, I'll scream. I will be buying gifts for my sisters on x-mas, and for my godniece though this year.

I like halloween because I like the whole custome thing and I plan to pass out candy this year.

    I've always like Thanksgiving.

Last year I "celebrated" more than I've done since I became a dub. It was nice enough, but I'm just not able to get immersed in it as I did in my pre-dub days. A glass of eggnog, a few cards, some Christmas specials on TV and my son coming over (or going out for dinner) is enough for me.

Also, are you less inclined to believe in supernatural or strange things and look for a rational explanation?

I always follow the money trail and try to figure out what angle people are working.
