Did you tell this woman that she was a retard? Because she is one. Debating such things with anybody gives credence to their point.

You could have really f'd her up and explained that sponges are both asexual and bisexual. They are essentially fully functioning hermaphrodites.

That's ridiculous! My brother (JW) was extremely upset because I had a little stuffed "Tinky Winky" on my keychain and said that Tinky Winky from the Teletubbies was gay and that I was promoting homosexuality by having him on my keychain. <rolls eyes>

I just told him I was a lesbian, so homosexuality was okay with me. Heh. He was glabberfasted.

Thanks for the link. I read the article. It is ridiculous. Little children are not thinking about the issue of gay/straight when watching spongebob or any other cartoon. They do not judge people by their sexual orientation or for any other reason unless an adult teaches them that behavior.

So what if spongebob is popular with gay people? Gays are still the minority in this country and there are far more straight people who love spongebob - including ME! I think he is adorable. Some people have too much time on their hands and need to get a hobby. Lilly

I work with an idiot who thinks this. He isn't an ultra-conservative Christian. He's just a booger picking moron, quite literally. First it was, "I don't let my kids watch SpongeBob because I think it has humor that they don't quite understand." I asked him the ages of his children. 7 and 12. I asked him, "So, you think your children are stupid?" Then he came out with the "gay" stuff. I asked him if he really thought that a cartoon show would someday make his children become homosexuals. He said yes. I just laughed and laughed. Of course, this is the same idiot who proclaims every once in awhile "Yeah, this is a man's line."

no, he's not gay. the character he plays is purposefully sexually ambiguous. in real life Sponge Bob is very hetero.

I see, like I mentioned before, that everything you can think of ... has been talked about here before. I actually enjoy the Sponge Bob cartoons. Although they are made with children in mind, there is a lot of humor that adults understand too.
