Yeah you JW's just DO that...

jehovah's witnesses have been practicing psychological terrorism for close on to 122 years...JW's had BETTER go door to door with a 'message of hope and comfort'...WT owes the world a debt that can never be repaid as far as I'm concerned.

jehovah' witnesses have been responsible for the deaths of more people than the Branch Davidians and People's Temple...JW's had BETTER go door to door with a 'message of hope and comfort'. It's the least you can do ...finally!!

I've noticed that the jehovah's witnesses that come on this board and try to apologize for themselves have totally stopped using facts and figures and anything tangible to support their position.

Think about this...why can't jehovah's witnesses go to the doors today and offer the books and magazines that have been scheduled for this week and month? Because they aren't appropriate, that's why!!! This Sunday Watchtower study basically tells people not to study the bible on their own...that only through assemblies, conventions, and the literature can a person possibly find salvation (and hence resurrection). JW's had BETTER go door to door with a 'message of hope and comfort'...and don't use the current literature!!!!

    dungbeetle...cleaning up the crap.

and where every truth is "relative."

Tough love here; ..and so you have chosen truth that isn't even "truth"?

btw, why aren't you giving blood? The better part of your humanity led you to that decision, or some mean spirited aging white men with no more connection to God than you or I?

It is, imo, the fact that you are so "troubled" that makes you very different from JW's in general. Not that they are not troubled, just that they aren't enough to care to look for answers except through their faith in their religion. That won't help, I know from where I speak.

I don't want people to be killed at Armageddon, I do not refer to non-JWs as "goats" or joke that after Armageddon, "I want that house!" I hope only for a happy outcome in the end. There are many good and loving people in this world.

You only said the above because your religion's tone has been exactly that. Oh, they are a bit less so now? Who cares? God didn't change them, a more enlightened time period did. Even so, JW thought/tone/love is still well BEHIND the best of civilization. Would the Creator really be playing catch up with the world?

Good and loving people? You're so right. Won't you join them?

    quote from Troubled:

My husband and I were on vacation when we heard about the disasters at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. We cut our trip short and returned home.

Did you fly home that same day? How hard was it to get flights out? You must of been pretty nervous to be on a plane after that had just happened. I feel your pain and sadness ((hug)). I'm glad you and your husband made it home okay.

My thoughts after talking to my JW dad and reading posts from current JWs is that there are many Witnesses who feel truly awful about what happened on Tuesday. Going out in field service, they honestly feel they are doing an important work in comforting people.

That makes me the saddest of all.

To think that there are JWs who are encountering people at the doors and in light of what has happened this week--because people who don't know their bibles can't tell false from truth--they might be caught up in this false religion. Jesus makes that very clear in the bible--you need to receive Him in order to have etneral life. And knowing that people might be taken in by JWs at this emotional point in our history and not going to the true Jesus makes me want to cry all over again.

My hope is that people who are looking to God for answers not get caught up in the emotions of the moment, but do research and investigate what who the true God is and put faith in THAT God. I'm so sad my father is in a false religion, a cult, which is full of good people who don't understand (or care to investigate) truth.

If you have the right Jesus, you're right for all etnerity. If you have the wrong Jesus, you're wrong for all etnerity. Make no mistake about it. The JWs have the WRONG Jesus--as a Christain ex-JW, some days my heart is so heavy when I think about that that it makes me sad beyond words. Lives are at stake in our beliefs, because there is life beyond this earth.

    A note for troubled:

The Society has been even more precise than merely specifying that 99 percent of humanity is expected to perish in the battle of Armageddon. The following is a quotation from the October 15, 1958 Watchtower article "What Will Armageddon Mean for You?" Note the start of the second paragraph:

As for humans upon earth, on the side of Jehovah will be all those fully dedicated to him and who are faithfully following Jesus Christ; compared with earth's billions these are indeed few. They are the few that walk the narrow way or cramped road that leads to life. These will not share in the fighting but will merely sing God's praises.-2 Chron. 20:20, 21; 2 Cor. 10:4, 5; Matt. 7:13, 14.

On Satan's side will be all the rest of mankind, more than 99.9 percent, even as we read: "The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." That includes all the governments of the world together with their supporters, the commercial, religious and social institutions. Even the professedly Christian organizations? Yes, because all such that are friends of the world are making themselves enemies of God.-1 John 5:19; Jas. 4:4.

The Society also links a willingness to believe that the death toll may not be so great with a tendency toward apostasy in the March 15, 1986 Watchtower article entitled "Allow No Place for the Devil":

If a person is questioning whether we are living in "the last days" of this system, or perhaps is entertaining ideas that God is so merciful that he surely will not cause the death of so many millions of people during the "great tribulation," then this individual already has prepared his heart to listen to such criticisms.-2 Timothy 3:1; Matthew 24:21.

I respect your feelings of mercy, troubled.

I also respect the feelings of one of my relatives who
said he privately rejects the notion that only JWs will survive
Armageddon - or that they are the only recipients of God's favor.

There may be many more like him - Witnesses who lack sociopathic
leanings led by years of indoctrination and enforced cult-like
separatism. Change here is good and I applaud it.

The hard-hearted Pharisees who rule the Society persistently
hide their feelings of condemnation behind graphics that portray
a kindness they don't believe in.
    That is hypocrisy
    That is deception
    That is exploitation.

I stopped offering the magazines sometime ago when I became
disgusted with "Awake" articles that show suffering children
from around the world, saying that their suffering will "end
soon". Nothing, of course, is admitted that their suffering will
end by their collective deaths at Armageddon, since they aren't
    Witnesses.

Does it ever begin to occur to any of you 'loyal Witnesses'
that this severe view may encourage the increasingly obvious
mental and emotional illness in the organization?
It's the same kind of sick outlook that infests fundamentalist
church members in regard to hellfire, just toned down a little.

There are many fine people still left in the organization.
They, and their compassion, are its only hope.

    Hey Guys!

Did you watch the service at St. Patricks Cathedral in NYC on Sunday?I did. In my community people went in droves to church to hear some words about comfort from the Bible. I do not condemn them. It shows that there is a spiritual side to all people. What they choose to believe is their decision. I do not go to them and say - "what a horrible religion you have. You believe that most people who don't believe what you do will burn for ever and ever and ever. That is disgusting. What kind of fiends are you?" I do not tell the Muslim that your Taliban should be wiped out and all you who follow them.

When I see the Muslim I don't attack his religion even though it was those adherents who perpetrated such horrible things as the attack on the WTC. His Koran does not encourage this kind of action. What we see are masses who are driven by hate who will inflict mental and emotional turmoil not to mention death and they are happy about it.

What are YOU saying to someone who is hurting? Tell them "don't worry we're going to kill them all and get even?" There are all kinds of things that can be done at a time of crisis. Some needed to supply booties for the dogs. Eyewash for their eyes and ears. Some supplied help in probably thousands of ways. Those cranes - donated. The big night lights donated. Food, health care, razor blades etc. Time and money.

It reminds me of the Apostle who said that because the eye is not the hand it cannot say itis not part of the body. All organs work together for the benefit of the person. I think that many peoples have come together to try to do what they can - the widow's mite.

So whatever we feel motivated in our hearts to do within our ability, if it is out of love and without compulsion should be welcomed and appreciated. I have shared Bible thoughts - things that I have found comfort in. So many people are just happy to take out their Bibles and retrieve God's thoughts. I had a few people even put markers in their bibles to read them again and share with family. Many people didn't make it to church. Some are not members, some sick and in the hospitals. Some are of non christian religion. It gives me an opportunity to ask what is their source of comfort during such a time and listen and perhaps they want to exchange thoughts. Most people are quite open, and willing to talk.

Unfortunately there are some on this board that can see nothing but poison among Jehovah's witnesses. Someone told me that with my screen name of RipVanWinkle it was appropriate since I still must be asleep.

I am not asleep, but I will not allow someone to take from me something (though imperfect) without offering me something better in exchange. I would like to see a return to the pattern set out by Jesus, whether it will come or not is not in my control. But irregardless, my faith is between me and Jehovah. I answer for the decisions I must make with my trained conscience. So does everyone else on this board .

Can't we just all get along instead of acting like cats and dogs?

Hmmm, rip, I can't speak for the Koran (although I feel pretty sure that with a modicum of research, I could), but the Bible could certainly leave a person confused as to whether or not violence was appropriate in Gods name. It is a book of confusion, not one of hope. If you say otherwise, it is your heart and not your mind speaking. Which is just fine, till your heart becomes a little too treacherous . Then who knows what you'll do; perhaps sacrifice your child or husband or self on an alter of biblical interpretation, perhaps perform a suicide killing on the alter of Koranic interpretation.

BTW, bible believer, so comfy in the notion that your own book said there would be scoffers; realize this: it doesn't take a prophet or even a wise person to realize that when one makes extraordinary claims, perhaps even extraordinarily wacky claims, there will be scoffers, and people will oppose those claims. As well they should.

    Troubled,

Thank you so much for expressing your thoughts and personal concern most beautifully.

May I share a thought regarding one particular comment you made?

Also, since Jehovah is the reader of hearts, if he sees many, many loving persons would embrace Truth if they had different circumstances, exposure to information, biological makeup, opportunity, etc., I'm sure He will take this also into consideration.

Let me express my support and agreement with this beautiful thought, and to make it crystal clear that this concept is talked about a great deal among Jehovah's Witnesses. I cannot tell you how many times I have had this exact discussion with various of my brothers and sisters.

It must be remembered that the concepts of Armageddon and judgment of the wicked do not find their origin in the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses, but rather in the Bible itself.

Nor is the concept of judgment of the wicked unique to Jehovah's Witnesses. This same concept is taught throughout virtually all "Christian" churches, but in different forms. Where Jehovah's Witnesses teach the concept of final destruction for the wicked, resulting in consciousless death, most teach 'eternal damnation', that the wicked are conscious, and literally suffer in a burning hell forever and ever.

It is true that, in their publications, the WTB&TS has made statements to the effect that individuals need to align themselves with "Jehovah's organization" to escape destruction. At the same time, though, comments can also be found in the very same publications to the effect that the final judgment of each individual is in Jehovah's hands, and it is not for us to make that judgment.

For me, it is simple. If one claims to be Christian, one must believe in the ransom sacrifice of Christ, and the resurrection. Paul makes very clear that one cannot call themself a "Christian" unless they hold that belief.

If one believes, then, that God truly did send his most prized possession to earth to die on behalf of mankind--if he truly loved humankind that much--it doesn't then seem particularly logical that he would callously turn around and kill any individual who did not truly deserve it.

Assuming that Jehovah's Witnesses are even somewhat close to interpreting what the Bible says about such judgment correctly, I think it is going to be most interesting to see how it all plays out.

I have a funny feeling all of us may be in for a lot of surprises.

Nicodemus, why would you reference Paul's words on how to be a Christian? The tone and tenor of Paul is quite different from what Jesus said and did by example.

You are well read, you know that.

"5/22/01 Awake on terrorism (will go into reprint)
    8/22/02 Awake post traumatic stress"

Interesting Timing here. Also; "Awake On Terrorism" "Awake on Post Traumatic Stress" has a "catchy"(snare) to "It", don't you think? So then, why are They all so surprised? It was foretold (prophesized) by the FDS months ahead of time...or is that the FBI?

Yes, WATCHTOWER ORGANIZATION, this IS war. You and Me. I'm prepared. You damn well better be!! And by the way, you can HAVE my mom. She's "cold and stiff" now. I could never get through the concrete you and your TERRORISTS "pour" down her throat, that seeps into her soul and restricts her mind. Unpredictable is what she has become. A high risk. No telling what she will do for her MASTERS IN TERRORISM.

I AM...well informed, well alert and well armed to fight you son of a bitches. I have NO FEAR OF ANY OF YOU! I have covered ALL my "bases". I am resigned. Ido not fear death now. I fear for those who will CONTINUE TO DIE WHILE ACCEPTING YOUR "WHOLLY ORGANIZATIONS" DEADLY, TWISTED, NARCASSISTIC POLICIES! You've disintergrated my ENTIRE FAMILY NUCLEUS. And so many others. Don't you dare start crying for those dead in tuesdays attack. You pathetic hypocrites. DESTRUCTION IS WHAT YOU PREACH AND PRINT. Your "stage act" is completely transparent, you fools. The world IS going to "SEE THE LIGHT" re: just how insanely deep your criminal corruption is "buried", and very soon.

    sKally, www klass

If I die "fighting" for what I KNOW to be TRUTH...so be it! I will rest in Peace.
