That is so true, and has kept me from speaking to most of my friends about it, it takes time or a lot of strength to move on from a lie that has been lived for years or decades.
The only real resemblance I have seen to a jw in him is his refusal to answer direct questions,
There are many questions that a JW can not answer, so the only way the mind can cope is to ignore it, or give an irrelevant answer. In one of my meetings with the elders I said it is hypocritical for JWs to take blood by products, but not donate blood. The answer was "taking blood products is a conscience matter". A totally irrelevant answer, but enough for the elder to satisfy himself internally that everything was ok.
