Semi-apologists - How should we treat them?
Slim
It's always desirable for the other side of the argument to be exposed for the dubs to offer their opinions as long as they behave reasonably. If they don't want to allow anti JW posters on their forums that's their own anti democracy problem, they are showing something to the world. In fact I would like to see a lot more dubs here trying to defend their beliefs and way of behaviour.
On the other hand I can see why the mods take action when some very opinionated pro JW posters completely ignore all the damning points made about their organisation and leave them unanswered.
Semi? Is that like flaccid??
Seems I missed all the fun around here, last night. With working on my dissertation these last few weeks I'm mostly only getting to post on coffee-breaks
It's my opinion that the poster concerned is here simply to cause trouble. He/she does this by inflaming the board (not too hard at times!) with outrageous claims in support of the WTS knowing that some of these will hit a 'raw nerve' and then the thread will take on a life of its own.
Ozzie, I share that opinion. I have thought for some time that the purpose of some of the apologists that come in here is merely to instigate pointless discussions and distract posters from more important issues, like people who come here looking for help and support.
I think that you have been more than fair with 3w. He is fortunate to be able to post here at all. If I went on a pro - jw board and expressed my views on the wts, that would be the first and last post I ever made.

Every tasty meal has a little salt and pepper to spice it up . I welcome those who want to present the J W view, and I support Ozzie's notion that a regular , obedient, dub would not come here anyway.
If any discussion falls below acceptable standards, then the mods do their job, that seems alright to me.
I used to get answering machine messages regularly that were humorous to listen to. Examples were: "Jehovah's gonna git ya.", "Gary, you're a worm.", and my all time favorite, "Gary . . . you gonna dieeeeeeee!".
It all stopped when I got caller ID and anonymous call blocker. What I did with the caller ID, was I took away the anonymous call opportunity. I post to and read two woodworking forums. One accepts acronyms and anonymous registrations and one only accepts real email addresses and real name registrations.
The anonymous board is way ruder and mean posts are common. The real name forum is tame and civil, courteous. These are woodworking forums.
I realize I'm just a baby on this forum but I have truly found what I was looking for when I started reading and posting. I say bring 'em on if they wish only as long as they adhere to the rules. Ozzie is right, the duck and cover posts are insulting to those who are interested in actually carrying on conversation as opposed to being subjected to propaganda and one sided rhetoric.
Apologists - how should we treat them here?
with open arms
I have known of only one poster who was banned [DEFD] and now one who has been restricted to number of posts. [Thirdwitness].
..........i always kinda enjoyed defd...........many laughs from him/her........so jw....so arrogant & talking about avoiding direct questions
it takes all kinds to make the world spin. but you are all right, there is a limit to what should be allowed......the guidelines are very clear. even when you post...it's in your face, so follow the damn rules or get booted!!
