  Using the WT's words against it is one of the best ways to anti-witness to the congo.

  MANY times I have spoken with the up-&-coming wanna be an elder couple who is waiting to have kids in the "new system."

  It's like a mantra in some congos almost as if there is a stigma attached to having children in the here and now.

  My way of forcing them back to reality is to tell them the personal experience that a 70 y/0 sister in my old congo related to me urging me to have lots of kids.

  She and her husband waited and waited for the new system until she was unable to have kids (menopause I assume). The brother died of cancer a few months later and now the sister is ALLllllllll alone and literally eating cat food on her $500 per month SS check. I used this tale to ask an elder if the old and decrepit will receive new bodies at Armageddon so the sister can have children in the new system.

  One elder said "No" and another said "Yes"

  The elder who said yes is in his 50's, married with no children. He and his wife are waiting for the new system

  This is a good subject, because it always bothered me when I was a JW. I remember my friend's mother, who was very happily married, had a little fantasy that if she lost her husband and stayed single that Jehoover would make special exceptions to the rule for people like her and allow her to REMARRY her resurrected spouse.

  Another item that used to REALLY annoy me were the debates over what resurrected people would look like. It made no sense to me whatsoever that if I was resurrected in a new body that God wouldn't use his power to make the new body look like the old me, that I might not be recognized except for my personality. What a load of hogwash!

  The Watchtower, February 1, 1942, P. 37-38:

  That those having children would have difficulties on that account at this end of the world of demon rule, Jesus plainly showed in his prophecy, saying: "And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!" (Luke 23 : 28-30) This clearly makes it to appear why it is better and wiser for those of the Lord's "other sheep", and who hope to become of the "great multitude" that shall survive Armageddon and thereafter be given tile divine mandate to "fill the earth" with a righteous offspring, to defer matters until after the tribulation and destruction of Armageddon are past; then the new and righteous invisible overlord of mankind will exercise dominion over the cleansed earth and the Lord God will restate the divine nmndate to the Armageddon survivors. Those waiting on the Lord spare themselves many difficulties, burdens, heartaches and griefs and enjoy the greatest measure of freedom for a part in the work foreshadowed by the activities of Jeremiah and his companions. Those of the Lord's "other sheep" who now have children or to whom children are born in the natural course of things do well to follow the advice of the apostle and "bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord"; and the children of such consecrated and devoted parents do that which is right and commanded of the Lord when they "obey your parents in the Lord". (Eph. 6: 1-4) This is the only course of wisdom, leading to the Lord's approval and to safety during the Armageddon tribulation.

  What would be the point in saying that? Why would she be happier if she did not re-marry? They never finish explaining the meaning of a scripture but stop in the middle of it or once it fits.

  neither can they die anymoreDoesn?t applying this passage to those with ?earthly? hope go against what they teach about the resurrection because being resurrected to an earthly existence doesn?t mean you still can?t be destroyed after the thousand years are up and Satan is released for a short time. What?s he being released for if it isn?t to mislead and take as many with him as he can when he goes? Are they applying this to ONLY those that survive Armegeddon?

  As for the seven brothers, they need to stay far far away from her.

  It was my understanding the creaking decrepit old Dubs will grow to perfection during the course of a thousand years. Yes that was what I was taught.... I was not going to grow old when ARmeggedon came in 1975 I was going to grow young again....beautiful, gorgeous, slim, instead look at me now Old decrepid, half blind, fat,bent over, can hardly walk. What the heck happened did I misunderstand the DEAR Brothers?? Oh no they dont lie do they?????I must have been sent to hades with the worms, cos I found a few of them on me too!!! May be in the resurrection do you think ?????

  The article I posted came up during a time when my wife was very ill. She recovered, but not completely, and the illness left her unable to bear children. This was after a period of several years of intense "essential Theocratic activity" (building Kingdom Halls, working on an Assembly Hall, etc) during which time we had waited to have children. Needless to say, I did not feel "blessed".

  The writer of the article says "There is no reason now to overemphasize this matter." I found that to be pretty insensative. The GB are so preoccupied with being able to tell God that they did their "job" so they can go to heaven. I honestly don't think they care about what happens to the rest of us after that.

  Oh and by the way Skyking, just to add to your post. Yeah, what a rediculous argument. The article says that Jesus was a perfect man when he said this, so he could feel emotions as a perfect man would. I mean no disrespect by this, but as a perfect man, did Jesus have genitals? There is no record of him being deformed or being a eunich.

  It shows that the JW promises to its members do not add up since the resurrected spouses will not have a sexually capable body. If someone's spouse dies and they remain celibate waiting for them at the resurrection they will find that they are no longer compatible. One can have sex the other can not. One eats the other does not.

  Genesis confirms that Angels have sexual urges toward physical creatures. So all those sexy Anointed in Heaven are going to be sooo frustrated. Esp Greenlees when he discovers that there are no twinkies there for him to seduce.

  I cannot imagine a God tormenting youthful perfect humans with a sexual urge that has no outlet.

  Another issue raised here is that it is obvious that the WTBTS applies Jesus words to whom they want when they want.

  Here they claim that what they say is true because Jesus was talking to a group who belived in the earthly resurrection.

  Yet of John 6:53, 54 : "unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life and I shall resurrect him at the last day."

  Since this was addressed to those who believed in an earthly resurrection, why do they tell the majority not to partake of the emblems at the Reject the Lord Fest?

  But but but but - NO! they apply this scripture to the Annointed, whilst saying that the resurrection at "the last day " is an earthly one.
