Why are the world's anointed not called to Brooklyn to be Governing Body?

  How many times have you heard that statement. Such a large portion of Watchtower doctrine is totally senseless that they have to use the "it will be revealed in due time" line constantly, yet a JW has the gall to say they have "the Truth"

  Your comment is very relevant, and key to understanding that the doctrine of the F&D slave is wrong. Apart from the Governing Body, being anointed means nothing. Which makes mockery of the Watchtower explanation of what the F&D slave is.

  Watchtower 1995 May 15 p.16 ?If all the anointed as a group, no matter where on earth they live, are members of the slave class, who are the ?domestics?? They are the same anointed ones but considered from a different viewpoint?as individuals. Yes, as individuals they would be of the ?slave? or they would be ?domestics,? depending on whether they were dispensing spiritual food or partaking of it. To illustrate: As recorded at 2 Peter 3:15, 16, the apostle Peter makes reference to Paul?s letters. When reading them, Peter would be as one of the domestics feeding on the spiritual food provided by Paul as a representative of the slave class.?

  Anointed to be king of Israel but not anointed in the WTS sense of going to heaven as one of the 144,000.

  But wasn't he chosen by God to be king of Israel? Why would he be left out of group chosen to go to heaven? Because he was party animal?

  I also knew someone who wrote to them twice the first time they wrote him that it was not necessary to write letters the second time they didn't even answer. Perhaps their devious excuse is that Jehovah today works only through the GB even though there are many anointed in the org because in the modern setting that is more convenient. Definitely God doesn't work that way. The GB have been doing many things horribly wrong and no doubt others pointed this out to them but they ignore them.

  I think they left the concept of the anointed very nebulous intentionally so that peope will not start asking questions about them. It's silly to say they just feel it within them that they were called, they must also have some high level of spirituality to justify this. And the GB do not have it.

  Yes, it makes perfect sense that if the GB really considered the anointed to be of any REAL importance and had any REAL spiritual insight, they would consult with them.
  
  But, they do NOT use them in any fashion which leads me to believe this is part of the smoke and mirror aspect of the religion. In this case, their inaction speaks lounder than words.
  
  This category of anointed just adds to the mystique that religions feel they need to attract gullible people. They have to make it look as if they have a "pipeline" to the divine.

  I used to think exactly the same - made perfect sense that the Governing Body would be chosen from the Anointed on Earth. So what now? Are the 'Nethinim' coming into play? And when were they invented......where in the Bible does it say who and what they are and why they usurp the Anointed?

  Simple...Many annointed ones are sincere. We can't have those people running the org.

  Your rank and your competence will determine whether you are questioned as being of the anointed or not. One of my friends in the hall approached the elders and told them he thought he was one of the anointed. They started off explaining to him why he was wrong. My friend wasn't baptized, and had come from a destructive lifestyle, so his claim was dismissed immediately.

  But consider this: there's an elder in a congregation not too far from mine. He is a genial and patriarchal figure, and can give talks with no notes whatsoever. I learned that he started partaking a couple years ago. No one questions his being of the 144k, because of his position and his competence.

  I know some feel differently about David and others pre-Christ going to heaven, but the WTS doctine is that no one went to heaven before Jesus was resurrected and returned in 33 CE.
