    Hey All,

I'm practically brain-dead this afternoon, unable to handle anything of any intellectual level to speak of. So I thought I'd drop by watchtower.org and see what drivel they were passing off these days.

One of the lead articles is "Should I Get a Tattoo?". (http://watchtower.org/e/20030922a/article_01.htm) I thought that might be fun to glance at. Sure enough, lots of propaganda, including some great graphics. An entertaining read.

As interesting as the article are their choices of "Related topics", off to the left. They include:
*) What's So Wrong With Telephone Sex?
*) Dabbling in the Occult? What's the Harm?

In what sense are tattoos "related" to "phone sex" and "the Occult"? Not at all, unless you'd like to build a false association to them to further brain-wash your readers.

Excellent work all the way around. Hats off and middle finger raised to you, Watchtower!

First they quote Leviticus 19:28, on mosaic law for no tattoo.... then they say...

While Christians today are not under the Law of Moses, the prohibition it laid on tattooing is sobering.

If it is so sobering, would not the very verse just before it be just as sobering?

    Leviticus 19:27

"You must not cut your sidelocks short around, and you must not destroy the extremity of your beard."

Yet the WT has a ban on growing beards! If tattooing should be considered sobering because it was in the law, then so should shaving, should it not?

No, the WT likes to cherry pick the scritpures it wants to control the rank and file while ignoring the others that go against their man made rules.

And they never mention that Paul had a tattoo.

"What's So Wrong With Telephone Sex? "

Where do they think all the Baby Bells came from?

    Stealth,

Oh, that is beautiful! I'm grinning from ear to ear, right across my soberingly beardless face!

"Cherry pick" - absolutely. Christians aren't under the Mosaic Law, but we're gonna go ahead and bang you over the head with bits and pieces of it every so often just 'cause.

Paul had a tattoo? Do you have a scripture on that? Could be handy...

    Thanks for your replies, everyone!

Paul had a tattoo? Do you have a scripture on that? Could be handy...

    Galations 6:17

Henceforth let no one be making trouble for me, for I am carrying on my body the brand marks of Jesus.

The translation of the greek word for 'brand marks' is Tattoo. If my memory serves me correct the margin reference in the NWT even makes reference back to the scripture in Leviticus 19:28.

They are related for me. I have a tattoo of a demon having phone sex.

And Jesus said he was a vine and a door, so I guess it literally means that he grew grapes off his body and had a doorknob somewhere on his person.

Oh, and Paul said he pummeled his body and led it as a slave. I guess he was real entertaining at parties....
