Win Twins!!
My husband is an absolutely huge fan. He is more excited about this then he's been about the Wings and the Stanley Cup in years past. (waaaay past).
Now this should be interesting. Let's see how we do next year. Make sure it's no flukey thing.
Go Tigers!
Andy is a big Tigers fan. His sisters treated him to a game in Detroit a couple of Sundays ago. I have a hard time with any American League team because I don't like the designated hitter.
I do understand people's excitement though because I lived in Atlanta when the Braves hit their big winning streak back in the early 90's. That was when I discovered why men like watching sports so much. You forget your cares while you're watching a game, just like you did when you were a kid and just lost yourself in whatever you were doing that was fun. Oh to have that ability all the time now.
I've been following them since Brandon Inge joined the team. He's from my hometown. I actually played little-league ball with his uncle (a million years ago). I like that he's a throw-back type of player. I've always been a National League guy, but I'll root for the Tigers this year.
I live 3 miles from Detroit...and this year I'm getting into it..
GO TIGERS!!!

I'm an avid baseball fan and I remember the Tigers in 1987.
Last year, on a baseball discussion board, I highlighted the fact that the Detroit Tigers will make a formidable run this seaon. And they have thus far.
Lest to say, I'm not a Tigers fan.

I thought this was a football thread!! Was gonna say "go dallas".
So I guess I'll say "go rangers". Although I don't have a clue......
Tigers all the way. with a division title. Twins may have evened it up tonight, but our next 3 games are against the royals while the twins will be facing the white sox. also we get the tie breaker just in case if you were to have the same record as us.
It's 1984 I remember better. I was a huge Tiger fan from about 1975 to 1984. Foremost memories are of Mark (The Bird) Fidrych, Lance Parrish, Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker (still a JW?), Aurelio Rodriquez, Jason Thompson, John Wockenfuss, Larry Herndon, Chet Lemon, Kirk Gibson, Tom Brookens, Darrell Evans, Steve Kemp, Jack Morris, Milt Wilcox, Rusty Staub, Dan Petry, Dave Rozema, and John Hiller.
I think chet still a witness too confession. I use to love the bird to as a matter of fact the sports radio show i'm listening to is about to have him on this morn.
