Also with so many burned out elders. it impacts their wives. So a "special meeting" makes the elders wives feel special and encouraged and they in turn will not pressure thier husbands so much. So the wives feel "upbuilt" and the elders feel their sacrifice to
the organizationJehovah is worthwile. Good tactics by the WTBTS in my humble opinion. And yes previous comments about the commenting etc all valid -

this will be a bonding experience not an organizational arrangement.
not a bad idea in itself...lots of congs have elders and wives that cant stand the sight of each other..
i used to encourage this in talks and arranged for those that didnt get along to come over for supper etc...sometimes it worked..it may just have been that they didnt know each other that well and so once they established common ground they became quite pally
sometimes it didnt work..and that was fun too.

I can think of 2-3 Elders from my past who would go into shock at the thought of "females" attending an Elders/MS meeting.

No chance in a trillion years the only thing the sis's will be doing is making sandwiches and serving tea and coffee

to clarify, I asked about the coffee bit and mom said that they would no doubt go out after... and they were called at home by the PO and very specifically told, I mean asked to bring their wives along. She was of course considering it quite a privledge to be asked - it was a Friday night, most likly at 7:30 (isn't that what time all kh meetings start?)
