I just read the shooter wasn't Amish,and the Amish people have told his family "we forgive you", and also that the 5 girls killed are better off than the ones who survived because they believe in the "hereafter". First of all, I'm sure they know the spotlight is on them, and want to be seen as peaceful people, but it really makes them look bad to me to say the 5 dead girls are "better off". You would think a Witness might say the same sort of thing.
As someone mentioned, they will use this as an example of the evil world around them. I suppose the police and medical assistance they received wouldn't change that.
