How Would You Explain The Stupidity Of The Blood Doctrine?

So the big news for Sept/Oct is to explain to the dumb dubs what has already been changed for six years now?

This could be an oppurtunity though...if JW family/friends get all excited about the "new" light, we could ask what's so new about it. When they explain about being allowed to take fractions now, you could pull out older publications that already had the change and ask them why is it that it took so long to officially announce it. How many brothers and sisters died because they didn't have this information explained to them in greater detail?

On a side note...Is the "Big News" from a few months ago...the legal brief written about the WT blood policy...any influence on this new Awake or KM article?

Let them explain it to us.

The doctor would also give her tetanus immune globulin -- a blood fraction. The doctor wouldn't think anything of it and neither would she.

I disagree, at least where some witnesses are concerned. My mother is very regular in getting her tetanus boosters because of the whole blood issue. I remember it being impressed on me as a kid how important it would be for me to keep up. I also remember being told if I got bit by a snake that was venomous I wouldn't be able to take the anti-venom. I used to be afraid as a kid I was going to die of a snakebite. Good thing I hadn't seen the necrotic effects of venom at that point or it would have been even worse.

I remember a sister in our hall who took the RH factor shot because of antibodies from her pregnancy and how stumbled some people were over this when others had refused the shot.

I asked my mother to show me just from "God's Word" anything about "fractions". Dead silence.

The blood mess is so unreasonable---who could ever figure it out on their own??

The simple answer is it can't be figured out, regardless of age.

However, one SHOULD be able to figure out the WTS is full of shit on this one.

They are in a deep mess regarding this issue with so many dead due to the blood policy, if they say blood is now allowed it can blow them apart both financially and morally. Only a twisted cult could ever conceive that it's wrong to take blood donated willingly and without any ill effects for the donor. If things had happened the JW way millions would have died needlessly.

Still, its ok to use donated blood (fractions) from other people but a JW can't do the same. 2 faced hypocrites!

Though most of my posts tend to bit a bit tongue in cheek, this one is totally serious.

I am still "in" and attend some meetings (as my profile shows).

But I have to say, this blood matrix thing has to be one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen.

In over 40 years in the borg, this has to be one of the craziest things that proportedly represents ones religious beliefs.

It's like reading from a Chinese menu ... one from column A, one from column B ... etc. .. . or maybe from a Weight Watchers point system for dieters.

I'm so at a loss for words I can't even make a typically sarcastic comment.

I agree, some witnesses get wound up pretty tight over this issue, (Most don't though...) but I've never run across any who truly realized just how ubiquitous blood fractions are in medicine. For instance; Did your JW mother allow you to recieve your childhood vaccinations? Not that it's any of my business, but if you attended public school in a developed country, she would have had little choice.

For example, the growth mediums used in the preparation of MMRII, MUMPSVAX ATTENUVAX and MURAVAX (Merck) contain both human albumin and fetal bovine serum. Additionally the vaccine solution itself contains human albumin either as an adjuvant or excipient (or both) Other examples include VARIVAX and VAQTA, (also Merck) EOLARIX, INFANRIX and GLAXO (SmithKline Beecham) PENTACEL (Adventis Pasteur) and virtually all of the enhanced potency poliomyelitus (IPV) vaccines.

I've used newer vaccines as examples, but this has pretty much always been the case.

    Can blood be stored?

There was a talk at the KH about this in the mid '90s. They said that storing blood broke the cycle of it being circulated and thus was a no-no. I got in a big argument with my mother on this. I told her that was the weirdest logic I'd ever heard. It's my blood if I want to store it and then take it again I will! I finally gave up.

Well a year or two ago she came in and announced that they said at the meeting that you could store your blood. I said WHAT? I told her we got into an argument over this in the past and she looked like she didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I dropped it. It's worse than talking to a brick wall.
