I have done this before, but I'll give this year a miss.
I will say however, that this is going to be my first real Christmas since age 3. Sure, I've been round friends houses on Christmas day or been at work where the decorations are up. But I've always felt it was a "token" participation or felt like a square peg in a round hole.
This year, my girl friend knows all about my past and is banking on it being a massive celebration for the two of us with stockings and Santa outfits and mince pies and god knows what else. It is going to be so incredible. And boxing day spent with her family. This will be a first for me, a change from the normal depressing existence during the non-event of Christmas day for an ex-jw.
