I'm just curious, do females make gifts only to other females, and males to other males, or is this a mixed gift exhange between both sexes?
Also, how are the names chosen?

As far as I am aware its always been a mixed exchange in past years.
Names will just be drawn out of a hat at random to match people up.

Yes, if you send me your details. In a couple of weeks around November time I will do a draw and send everyone out a name of who they are to buy a gift for. So everyone will send one and everyone will receive one.
Nearer the time we usually start a thread where everyone involved posts what sort of things they like and are into, that way when you receive your name you can go to that thread and look up the post from the person you have been assigned and get a few ideas of what sort of thing to buy for them.
