She still defends the cult and says "I'm trying and that she'll be alright".

Preaching to bring people into the WTS org is pointless since they will not be saved there, this org does not have the truth it just seeks to exploit its members.

Watchtower-1960-July-1-p.392 There is no middle ground. As Jesus said: “He that is not on my side is against me, and he that does not gather with me scatters.” (Matt. 12:30) We may not deceive ourselves with the thought that a passive belief in the Bible and leading a moral life is all that is required. Not by any means! Loyalty to Jehovah’s sovereignty requires that we take in knowledge of him and his Son, that we associate with other Christians, that we dedicate ourselves to do God’s will and carry out that will, the chief part of it at the present time being preaching “this good news of the kingdom.” By doing so, it will be our happy privilege to demonstrate throughout eternity our integrity to Jehovah’s sovereignty and to honor his name as his obedient subjects in therighteous new world.—Zeph. 2:3; Matt. 24:14. http://www.wirefiles.com/show.php/7498_Zwtq10001.jpg Watchtower-1951-January-1-p.24 The rules require that we do not get tangled up in pursuit of selfish gain. The rules require that we preach. The rules require that we walk according to God’s spirit, and not according to sinful, selfish, fleshly desires. http://www.wirefiles.com/show.php/7499_Zwtq20001.jpg QUESTION: CAN I WORSHIP JEHOVAH WITHOUT GOING IN THE MINISTRY WORK? ANSWER: NO! Watchtower-1954-July-1-p.407 6 By continually trying to perform all these things we prove that we are the ‘right kind of ministers of Christ Jesus,’ joyfully sharing with Jehovah in building up his New World society, to his everlasting praise. Well do we realize that one cannot truly worship Jehovah today without taking part in the work he now assigns to be done for his purposes. http://www.wirefiles.com/show.php/7503_Zwtq30002.jpg Cheers! Oh there's a whole host of JWs out there who think JUST LIKE your mom...my husband included. He told me that even though he would hang out in bars, come home all hours of the morning, be verbally and emotionally abusive to his family, never go to meetings, never ever read a magazine and never go out in service that I, who have "left jehovah" will NOT be in paradise and will be destroyed, and HE, "is trying and may have 'flaws' but at least he DIDNT LEAVE JEHOVAH and therefore will be in paradise" I almost pushed him out of the door of the car going 75mph when he pulled that one on me...but he was driving. Its bullshit and they know it.

Sure babe...sell that reasoning to the elders instead of hiding from them like you obviously are. Not ONE ELDER would say, hey yeah...thats fine what you are doing. NOT ONE Circuit Overseer comes to the hall and says, "some of you arent doing ANY field service and are leaving ALL THE WORK to others...and hey...that's cool with us."

She is only fooling herself and thinks everybody else will buy into her fantasy. The reality is...the JW version of paradise needs to be EARNED at least on THEIR paper.

God..for his part...could not care less what the man made requirements of the Borg are. So in HIS eyes..yeah, she's fine ignoring their Pharasaic laws.

The 1943 watchtower states that Jesus himself commanded the JW to go in field service and put in 140 hours a month. I think Leolaia had a scan of that arcticle

...............some times i think that due to the teachings of the wtb&ts, anyone who says they are jw, regardless of their efforts, in their own mind, think they will "make it into paradise". 'cause they haven't rejected the teachings of "the only true religion" on earth.

Watchtower-1970-July-1-p.407 Nonetheless, refusal to preach the good news of the Kingdom can keep one out of God’skingdom, just as can adultery, homosexuality and murder. http://www.wirefiles.com/show.php/7523_Zwtq40001.jpg Cheers! Atlantis-

My mom hasn’t been able to go out in field service for a few years now and only attends meetings on occasion but she makes sure she spreads the good news no matter what. She mails letters to her neighbors regularly. I use to mail them for her a couple times a week. She wouldn't put her return address on the envelopes though and I would tell her she was supposed to put a return address on everything or they may not get sent out. She didn't care...just mail'm. lol.

Thank You, to everyone for your input.

I'll use the info to write an e-mail to her even though it's probably a lost cause for her to open her eyes

She's 74 years old. I just stir the pot once in a while, only because she does the same to me about coming back to the meetings. Like that's what you need to do to be saved.

    Enjoyed reading your post.

that I, who have "left jehovah" will NOT be in paradise and will be destroyed, and HE, "is trying and may have 'flaws' but at least he DIDNT LEAVE JEHOVAH and therefore will be in paradise"

It's good to hear others who have the same experiences dealing with mental people.

I stand corrected. It depends what era you look at for these things. So many things have been modified to appease the newbies that there is a watering down of the hardball statements as years pass. I know the party line has always been that, but I know that the reality requires sound thinking persons to tell them to cram it.
