I hate to sound like a jerk on this one, but I am glad the Yankees are eliminated from the play-offs. Not because I can't stand them, I just don't want to hear about the "drama" of the Yankees playing on without Cory.

Guess so.
Fact is, out there in aviation, flight training is cheaper here than anywhere else. Currently, American flight schools are crawling with foreigners in this country to learn how to fly.
With an overcast of only 1600, drizzly, and no IFR training save the measly 5 hours you get while training for the private, he really had no business out there trying to fly that corrider in the first place. That much IFR experience is only good enough for you to do a 180 to get back to the clear skies you left behind should you find yourself accidentally in IMC (instrument meteorlogical conditions). He had a great machine, but it's only as good as the skills sitting in the left seat.
