Your opinion: Are those raised as Witnesses more likely to end up godless?

Based upon your clarification, I would have to say that it would seem so to me. (Assuming that by godless, you mean atheist perhaps.)

Those of use who were raised in have no prior persona to return to, no prior belief system, no prior perspective with which to reattach ourselves back to some semblance of normalcy. Prior to being a JW, we have nothing. So we have to create ourselves over from scratch. We're like children again, in many ways, seeing the world with new eyes. Many of us retain our severe scepticism, with good reason for certain!

God is dead. Long live the gods!

Yes we are !the Bible refers to it as Adopted children. to be "Born Again"I dont believe in religion regardless of what my dear friend Dansk says about me ( grin) I believe in a friendship that is personal with my Creator... It is a relationship believe me it must be harder for HIM to put up with ME cos he guides ,leads, directs my paths every day....

I don't think it's possible to generalize. I know plenty of ex-JWs who have gone in all possible directions, no matter if they were raised in the cult or converted.

For me, having been raised a JW, once I began to question them it wasn't that difficult to turn the skeptical eye I had been taught to have of other religions back on the JWs themselves. They came out poorly. And of course, once one begins questioning basic assumptions learned in childhood, where does one stop? The existence of God is up for grabs, for example, and once one really begins looking into such things, one might well begin to see the huge flaws in the whole business of religion. Once one does that, one's entire worldview will probably change drastically. At this point, I'm with Richard Dawkins -- an agnostic with leanings toward strong atheism. Of course, I'm always open to new evidence.

I was raised Catholic and then converted to JW.

Im not keen on organized religion or religion period for that matter. I remember studying and then getting more involved and thought all along it was nothing more than a big business. The more I learned the less I believed in God.

And it is a whole new world to discover myself and others.
