excellent point covered about their obssesion with demons attacking them , why when they can pray should they fear this.
Also when having a serious medical operation , why do they say to put faith in God to get you through it without using blood.Do they not have faith that God can save/heal them from needing the operation ??
all the best

I do think they need some help in the prayer catagory . I've heard some elders pray and add all sorts of ridiculous things directed toward certain people . I still can't remember anybody praying for spirit and truth or accurate prophesy . Might explain why they are so lame . I think they find it easier to condemn than to show the humility and pray for people out of concern . I even seldom saw women actually wear a head covering . I think they need an emergency prayer session to cover the multiple sins of the organization . Nice touch there making it sound like only individuals can sin but of course the organization is faultless and need not beg God for forgiveness . They are hypocrites .

Hi Blondie, nice summary. Their analogies are embarrasing! They shouldn't even discuss topics they have a distorted view of. They would think I am demonized if I raised my arms to the Lord during prayer.
Still, let's pray these poor blind people.

Six miilion dead in the Holocaust and God did not intervene to save innocent people from the Nazi's- and JW's think Jehovah will help a pioneer get a good car or a sister find a husband? The longer I was in the KH , the more I saw that God did not answer our prayers. I found out early on that Jehovah was asleep when it came to knowing if and elder had committed sins that could get him disfellowshipped. Well, if He saw anything, it didn't matter to Him.

Did it snow where you live? Not here yet though all the flowers and garden are kaput. We have green tomatoes ripening in paper bags. We may yet try fried green tomatoes. We’re cleaning up outside today before the snow does come. Buffalo had 12 inches…wow!
A-Hah! it's springtime in Argentina, Blondie.

Notice that even the WTS is not bold enough to put in "Jehovah" in place of "Our Father" or "your name." Why is it that JWs address their prayers to "Jehovah" rather than the more intimate and loving address, "Father"? Is it considered respectful to call one’s father by his first name; does it indicate a more closer relationship?
Dub children shouldn't be allowed to call their parents mom and dad or father and mother, how disrespectful of them they should address them by their first name.
How many times was Jehovah's name used in prayer in the new testament by Jesus ar anyone else,
ummm 0 times.
I still can't remember anybody praying for spirit and truth or accurate prophesy .
Me either but then again no need to they have all the answers.
I remember prayers thanking Jehovah for the wonderful literature and the wonderful faithful and discreet slave and the wonderful watchtowers and their wonderful spiritual truths.
Thanks blondie for your long suffering in posting this.

Your comments, blondie, that I most valued:
But then the WTS adds "right works," sincerity and a right heart attitude. Who determines what are right works, who is being sincere, who has a "right" heart attitude…the WTS/FDS/GB.
But the WTS will now lay down a few rigid rules.
"can" or must tell the older men…which is the same as confessing. A JW cannot just confess to God, he must also tell "confess" to the elders.
If you pray, never let any human get between you and God.
I hate the way that the Watchtower society shoulders it's way between the believer and God. I watch my JW husband struggle to pray...properly...with no assurance of being heard. I weep inside watching him. How dare the society package hope and make people sign in triplicate for a taste.
We had a dusting of snow last week, but it melted on contact. One sheltered tub of petunias has survived all icy blasts so far. Pretty son I'm going to have to go out there and pull all the annuals and lay down a mulch. I'm going to try and overwinter my tuberous begonias in peat moss. We'll see what I have next spring.

Can you believe this experience!!! Without mentioning she was looking for a job. I know that this JW left out part of the story…is it possible to go to this non-JW girl and confirm the story? Did the JWs in that sister’s congregation confirm it? I was told that no experiences appeared in the WT that had not been confirmed. How would you confirm this subjective experience?
Last night I made the mistake of questioning this experience during the fam. study. It drew a lot of ire from the fam, especially from my mom, who asked me if I thought it was impossible to impregnate a woman by Holy Spirit! I was really amazed at how a bit of skepticism equates to me abandoning faith in the Holy Spirit! (And how quickly she turned on me...that was disturbing. So Mary becoming pregnant with Jesus = Lady in the Phillipines getting a job out of the blue. They are both set in stone.) I was really taken aback by this...but persisted in noting at how extreme this example was: you pray for pioneering and a job, then bam! You get your prayer answered, that VERY DAY in fact. I asked, if she prayed for a job alone, would they have included this in the Watchtower? I also asked, if four people in a car prayed not to die on their journey, and three of four die in an accident, is the fourth person somehow better than the others, or was it pure chance that the person survived. She laughingly said that yes, the person who survives was the better person.
I really wanted to ask, if a dirt poor mother in Africa prays for her sickly child to survive the night, and he doesn't, but yet someone in the US prays for the circumstances to go pioneering and gets them, who was more worth it in God's eyes? Of course, if I had asked this, I think she would've called up the PO and arranged a JC...
I was suprised with the fantastic nature of this experience and expressed skepticism out loud. Don't forget, masked apostates, you can question a scripture but don't you DARE question a Watchtower!!

SirNose, it is always surprising how JWs ignore what the Bible says and even what the WTS as said. The holy spirit in regard to Mary advanced the Messianic prophecy. Whether a sister gets a job or not has no effect whatsoever on that.
First, time and unforeseen occurrence.
(Ecclesiastes 9:11-12) 11 I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all. 12 For man also does not know his time. Just like fishes that are being taken in an evil net, and like birds that are being taken in a trap, so the sons of men themselves are being ensnared at a calamitous time, when it falls upon them suddenly.
*** w05 8/1 p. 28 par. 10 Jehovah Is "the Rewarder of Those Earnestly Seeking Him" ***
Can you think of a valued personal possession that you view as special property? Do you not take steps to protect it? Jehovah does the same with his "special property." True, he does not shield his people from all of life's trials and tragedies. (Ecclesiastes 9:11) But Jehovah can and will protect his faithful servants spiritually. He gives them the strength they need to endure any trial.
*** w05 10/15 p. 8 Jehovah Will By No Means Leave You ***
Sudden unemployment and unexpected layoffs are real threats to many, including Jehovah's servants. "Time and unforeseen occurrence" befall anyone. (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
*** w05 11/15 p. 32 'The Love of All of You Is Increasing' ***
A NUMBER of natural disasters struck Japan in 2004. Among these were typhoons, floods, and earthquakes. They drastically affected the lives of many, including Jehovah's Witnesses. (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
Second, the event that Jesus mentioned in regard to the men that died when a tower collapsed.
*** w03 9/1 p. 9 par. 8 Make Jehovah Your Confidence ***
A third reason for suffering is stated at Ecclesiastes 9:11: "I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all." Sometimes, people are simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Regardless of our personal strengths or weaknesses, suffering and death may overtake any of us unexpectedly at any time. For instance, in Jesus' day a tower in Jerusalem fell and killed 18 people. Jesus showed that God was not punishing them for prior sins. (Luke 13:4) No, Jehovah is not to blame for such suffering.
** w02 9/1 p. 18 par. 19 "Without an Illustration He Would Not Speak to Them" ***
Effective illustrations can take the form of experiences or examples from which lessons can be drawn. On one occasion, Jesus used a recent event to reject the false notion that tragedy befalls those who deserve it. He said: "Those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, thereby killing them, do you imagine that they were proved greater debtors [sinners] than all other men inhabiting Jerusalem?" (Luke 13:4) Jesus argued eloquently against fatalistic reasoning. Those 18 souls did not perish because of some sin that evoked divine displeasure. Rather, their tragic death was a result of time and unforeseen occurrence. (Ecclesiastes 9:11) He thus refuted a false teaching by referring to an event that was well-known to his hearers.
*** w95 3/15 p. 26 "Watch Out for the Leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees" ***
Jesus may have had such false ideas in mind when he spoke about the collapse of a tower that resulted in 18 deaths. He asked: "Do you imagine that [the victims] were proved greater debtors than all other men inhabiting Jerusalem?" (Luke 13:4) As is true of most accidents, this was the result of "time and unforeseen occurrence," not fate as the Pharisees taught. (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
*** w91 10/15 p. 5 Is Your Future Set by Destiny? ***
Jesus did not blame these fatalities on some mysterious fate or on the will of God, nor did he believe that the victims were somehow more blameworthy than others. The tragic accident was just another example of time and unforeseen occurrence at work.
*** w90 8/15 p. 5 Should Fate Rule Your Life? ***
Note that Jesus did not ascribe the death of those 18 men to fate, nor did he say they died because of their being more wicked than others.
Plus the WTS says this:
**** w01 9/1 p. 30 How You Can Make Good Decisions ***
If we encounter difficulties after making a conscientious decision, that is no reason for assuming that the decision was wrong. "Time and unforeseen occurrence" can adversely affect the outcome of even the best-intentioned decisions. (Ecclesiastes 9:11) Moreover, Jehovah sometimes allows adversity to test the depth of our commitment. Jacob had to wrestle all night with an angel before receiving a blessing. (Genesis 32:24-26) We too may have to wrestle with adversity, even when we are doing the right thing.

Notice that God does not always give people what they ask for right away or at all per the WTS.

Overheard at the KH...
Sirnose: So, I can question a scripture but I should never question a Watchtower?
Governing Body: Good answer! You have learned much.
