It tells the story behind that song. I NEVER knew this!! The jingle came first. Then the song was re-written and released as a single because so many people were requesting DJs to play the Coke song.

I never knew that either till a show that was out some time last year. It was all about the top commercials of all time and that coke one was number one. I believe it was a well-known pop group that did the song as well back in the 60's or 70's

I remember as a kid it would come out at Christmas time and I would just dream of having a x-mas tree and .........on a better note, I am making up for it now...

Thanks for the link AudeSapere, I can't believe that jingle lasted as long as it did. The thing started 5 years before I was born and it seems I remember that commercial being on as late as perhaps 1986. Certainly a classic that they should put back on the air.
