Yeah, I learned all about being appointed by the Holy Spirit the day I moved congregations. When I told the elders I was moving congregations they told me they would not recommend me as an MS. Basically I was doing a lot of their grunt work and they did not want to see their free labor go away. They told me point blank that if I stayed I would continue to be an MS but if I left they would not recommend me. I asked them if that was the way the Holy Spirit worked. They said nothing in return. I left that congregation and sure enough they wrote a bad letter about me. Though in hindsight I think they did me a favor.

Maybe he will change his ways for a while now he has some extra responsiblities, until he finds out what he can get away with. I have known a few ms and elders who were drunks, smoked and had affairs. I never completely gave up smoking myself, I used to drive out of the area to smoke a few cigarrettes from time to time, and my bf told me that he had a couple of cigarrettes on the morning of his first public talk.
Maybe he really wants to be an ms, and sees your knowledge of what he's really like as a potential threat to his new position.

That's how it is with many JWs with a rank, even up to the GB, they are hypocritical just like it is in all other religions. The problem is that they claim to be the true religion and at the same time demand by their members to be treated as such and they intrude in their lives in numerous ways.

I know of an elder who went round to a widow's house and gave her and her daughter some spiritual counsel - before driving off to do some fornicating!

I am living proof that "Holy Spirit" isn't controlling d**k in the WT org. Been posting here bashing them for 4 going on 5 yrs and still not deleted as an elder.. heh.

In my experience with them it isn't holy spirit but who seems the most pious and popular.
