This year's annual meeting was as wonderful as ever – and the theme of urgency of our times was repeatedly emphasized. To that end, you may be as excited as me to hear that our 2007 theme text is
Zeph. 1:14 – The great day of Jehovah is near."

What's really amazing is how the WTS is pumping up the R&F. They're going retarded with Armageddon syndrome, trying to guess when Armageddon is coming. They get to stare at the big signs hanging in the KH with this in big letters. I wonder what it will be replaced with? Perhaps the year's text for 2008 will be "Nobody knows the day, nor the hour".

As never before we must keep our sense of urgency!

I've heard this statement for years. You can only pump up a tire so much before it blows apart. If the R&F keep pumping up their sense of urgency, and try pumping it up more than they did last time, they're going to blow apart as well.

Well I do know they do hold an annual mtg. I also know that given a chance for a bunch of old blow hards to stand up and preach at people, they take it. So I am inclined to believe the e-mail I got. What was posted is a short version of what I got, absent the personal notes and info that the person who sent it closed with. Again, I thought it was hysterical, all the THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING approach to life.

I'm not saying the notes are inaccurate. How would I know. I wasn't there. But the simultaneous blanketing of the JW audience with the exact same summary is suspicious.

I'm pretty sure it sure it was an "approved" E-Mail.

JW's feel privileged to receive such a report and are eager to circulate it.

There is a problem with No. 7. In all honesty, there is no way I would die for any of them, nor would I expect them to die for me. The only person I would be willing to give my life up for would be my own child.

I just cannot stand the pretense of this "brotherhood" because the joke of it is that this one doesn't like that one, etc. Yeah, don't focus on the negative. Just let every nut-job there take advantage of you and ignore it. Sure. Let the elders take this advice.

I really despise the whole concept of martyrdom because I have a problem with a god who loves human sacrifice as though he were bloodthirsty. And I despise even more any person who promotes this because I simply don't believe them. For all I know, they are expecting the OTHER guy to die and not them.

Thanks for this notes. So, nothing special. Usually, they included some organizational "tidbits". They have the annual meeting for legal reasons. At least in Germany there is a non-public part for the three-digit-number of WTS-members which I guess includes numbers and problems. The public part consists of the official programme that seems to be the same as in the US. It is also a means to give some "special" brothers an invitation. From one of those I used to get the taped session when I was in. It was kind of interesting to me back then when they explained what happened special last service year and what was planned for the next one. But this time, they it seems to be just another meeting to get the boring messages across.
